421 cub on stock carbs and reeds

i just bought a 421 cub with 4mil crank 5mm long rod, and cool head. got 22 domes, stock carbs, and stock reeds. running t5's. in the carbs i got 400 mains and 30 piolt. with needle set in the middle. not running right.. NEED HELP PLEASE!!! a stock banshee can spank me up olds. hill in glamis.. and after riding it for ten min it losses power and overheats...

jetting sounds too rich. drop the pilot back to a 27.5 and main down to a 380. see where that gets you..

 

also, that motor is being choked severely with stock carbs and t5's. it will never run to its full potential until you get at least some 33mm carbs and some cpi or shearer.

Ya man get some bigger carbs at the least im on a 4mill strocker 66mm K&T dragport with VF-3's 34pjs CPI oof's and it runs good I would put at least 34's on it and give it a shot with stock carbs jetted right on mine there wasnt anything to the motor give it a shot.
