Woolfman Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 I'm a Klotz fan and love my R50 but lots of people talk up the Super techniplate I was wondering if it is worth the switch? Lets hear the pros and cons. Quote
shanYE west Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 If your happy with it? why switch? Quote
05.Banshee.SE Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 Do you run race fuel, alky, what? Quote
Woolfman Posted February 11, 2009 Author Report Posted February 11, 2009 (edited) If your happy with it? why switch? good point! I have run it for years no problems then I tried yamalube and had my banshee and 250r quad racer engine go out shortly after never try that shit again. Just was wondering what the big deal is with the techniplate is why people talk it up so much? It's running on pump gas Edited February 11, 2009 by Woolfman Quote
shanYE west Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 Do you run race fuel, alky, what? R50 dont mix with methonal... so I'm leaning towards Gas. Oil is user preference... Everyone I race with uses Klotz supertech because it stays in suspension in colder temps with methonal. When I was using gas, I used R50 and castor 927. No problems. When I first switched to alky I used Benol. I've since switched to Redline oils. Quote
jbooker82 Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 I use supertechniplate because it has the best of both worlds. Caster oil is an extreemly well protecting oil, but it is a dirty burning oil. Supertechniplate is 80% synthetic and 20% benol caster oil. So you get better protection but not as dirty burning as 100% benol caster oil. josh Quote
RollinRhino Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 I am switching to the Klotz because the bottle looks cool and people might think I know what I am doing if I use that to mix my fuel. Quote
05.Banshee.SE Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 When I was using gas, I used R50 and castor 927. No problems. When I first switched to alky I used Benol. That's exactly what I was getting at. I would do the same...if you plan on staying Klotz that is. I personally run 927 w/ gasoline, never ran Klotz... I ditched the YamaLube though, love 927 compared to that bullshit. I've heard Klotz is a little bit better than 927 because of the castor contents...I've never had reason to change yet though. Not to mention I haven't seen Klotz at my small ATV guy near me. Huh...I'll have to look next time... I'd be willing to give it a run. I am switching to the Klotz because the bottle looks cool and people might think I know what I am doing if I use that to mix my fuel. LOL!! Quote
WildShee Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 I run Koltz supertechniplate in my banshee and a klotz snowmobile for my snowmobile. Works great..plus it smells great too! Quote
87sheerips Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 Yea, Ive used lots of different oils with no problems.. Switched to supertechniplate a couple years ago because I run all year... Warm, cold, on alky, on gas, etc........ It works great, and burns clean.. Quote
