stayblazin Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 I Have a 98 banshee thats 406 big bore with 4 mil stroker crank,vito crank,forged power pistons,boyessen reeds,cool head with 20cc domes. that was done last year around this time, My question is how long do you think till my pistions blow or something else goes wrong with the engine? or if u cant answer that whats the avarge lifespan for a forged piston? I had a stock stroke cub that on the first run up the hill after some break in blew the head off. I put it back together that day with new studs and o-rings and it stayed together and ran great for 2 seasons. Only came apart now to go bigger. Like loco said just use quality oils and keep up on your maintenance and jetting and it should stay together. Nothing can be guaranteed though. Quote

You never have anything good to say... +1 on the jetting, maintenance, and how you ride it. Use quality shit, and do everything right. Let it warm up and cool down accordingly...don't always rail on it... Keep it clean. Quote
2001Stroker Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 I use Maxima SuperM synthetic blend pre-mix at 36:1, and Castrol ATF Type-F in the tranny. I'm gonna switch it up to either Klotz Supertechniplate or Maxima Castor927 on my new motor. Quote
