banshee4201 Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 I was just wondering about some pros and cons of straight cut gears. I know they are supposed to take strain off of the crank and i also know that they come in different ratios. I run a 485 4mil cheetah and i drag 600ft. on dirt. I run 17/38 to 19/36 gearing. I was just wondering which ratio to run and why i should and why not? 2.86 or 2.68 Thanks for any input in advance. Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 i hear different people say different things. i run them in my 10mm motor. could i have gotten by without them? probably. but i had already spent an ass load anyway, so i said fuck it and bought them too.. i think guys on the asphalt run them in different sizes so they can have a taller gearing setup.
