bansheefreak Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 check the hoses on the carbs,, then clean out the right carb might be a jet clogged... Quote
vulvafan537240 Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 what do the plugs look like? Quote
chads300 Posted January 19, 2009 Author Report Posted January 19, 2009 plugs look fine i dont know why but like i said if it will rev out fine if the clutch is in and it will idle all day but as soon as it moves thats when the problem occurs????? Quote
CBAIER1206 Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 First off, are your carbs synced right? If so...you should do a compression test and see if there's an issue there. Between those 2 things and cleaning your carbs as mentioned above, I'm guessing you will find your issue. Quote
chads300 Posted January 19, 2009 Author Report Posted January 19, 2009 yep there synnced right and the compression is exalent i think it may be in the carbs because like i said it will idle/rev with the clutch in but as soon as i am in 4-6th gear thats when i notice it also if i hiold the throttle at the same spot it will sometimes run how it should but not all the time....... chads300 Posted January 20, 2009 Author Report Posted January 20, 2009 ok guys i cleaned the carbs, filter, airbox and put it back together synced the carbs and it will not kick start but if someone pulls me it will start but it does not want to run and it backfires like crazy and the right cylinder kicks on and off...... but when i am in motion it rips awsome and i noticed that when i am shifting gears it will sometimes rev out a bit when i let off the throttle .... any advice is apprciated Quote
tony cub Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 (edited) do you have the tors? have you checked the reeds? you never want to pull start a banshee..you could make a small problem into a big deal Edited January 20, 2009 by tony cub Quote
chads300 Posted January 20, 2009 Author Report Posted January 20, 2009 yes they are like new..... also it seems to hit on both cylinders better if the choke is on i was woundering i mabe its not getting enough or getting to much fuel.... it has a gay boost bottle on it and i thougt i mabey raan the gas line the wrong way because i went up over the bottle...... like i said it runs awsome as ong as you are ripping on it... it only does this at low rpms Quote
tony cub Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 (edited) did you check the boots around the boost bottle for any cracks?? if the carbs, reeds and plugs are good ,i would do a leak down.. Edited January 20, 2009 by tony cub Quote
chads300 Posted January 20, 2009 Author Report Posted January 20, 2009 yep all check out ok i was woundering could i have to adjust the throttle cable up at the throttle? because when i took it off it was turned out a bit and i put it the whole way in........ Quote
BUILDER Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 do you have the tors?have you checked the reeds? you never want to pull start a banshee..you could make a small problem into a big deal Why do you not want to pull start a banshee? Never heard of that one. Sounds like to me you are low on compression. Have you done a compression test on the bike to see were you are at? Quote
chads300 Posted January 20, 2009 Author Report Posted January 20, 2009 i dont know but i am pretty dam shure it is fuel related because it would start on the first kick and i tore it apart sunday night and put it together yesterday morning and now it is doing this i think it may be getting to much or not enough fuel or i have something adjusted wrong on my dam throttle cable i can post pics of stuff later if you name some items that it could be like the way my fuel line is run ect........ I guess i am a little confused. Why did you tear it apart and what did you tear apart? Did this problem just start all of the sudden or after you had done something to the quad? It is pretty hard to get the fuel line on wrong. If you tore the carbs apart for some reason you may have got your float messed up and it may not be getting enough fuel in the oone carb. One other question you plugs may look fine but how old are they? You may have a plug going bad. Edited January 20, 2009 by motor builder Quote
