Snopczynski Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 There is an oddball year wiring harness that wont fit any other year. I just checked 1994, 1995, 1996, and 1997 and they all have different part numbers for each year. I just cant remember which year is the weird one. Quote

official_style Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 ill compare some more plugs on both of them, i have to pull the front plastics off both to slap in the temp gauges. Quote
fastbanshee8 Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 The 95, and 96 model years had the different style plugs on the stators, and CDI boxes, which makes them more expensive. I've got a 96, and when I replaced my CDI, it cost me some $$$$. Quote
rubberneck Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 Correction, the 1995 and 1996 have a different plug on the CDI only. So for CDI, you have 87-94, then 95&96, then 1997 on up. Stator would be 87-94 and then from 1995 on up. FYI, the CDI will work just fine if you change the plug to whatever style harness you have. In other words you can buy a CDI for another year bike and put your plug on it to make it work. I did this for my 95. Keep in mind the newer CDI boxes have the parking brake interupt and you need to deal that wire if you put that stator on an older bike or a bike with no parking brake Quote
