FREAKSHOW Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 OK, I baught a 2002 shee about 2 months ago, I completely rebuilt the motor, new seal kit, gaskets, and top end.I follow the manual to a T. I also installed tors elemination on carbs and completly cleaned them out. I got it all together and it started on the 3rd kick. engine runs great , It idles well and revs right up once the throttle is moved and then comes back to idle once throttle is let go. It runs perfect UNTIL you try to ride it. Once you try to take off the engine boggs and tries to die, If you are lucky you can fether the throttle and keep it running. the olny way you can get it to move is to keep the rpms up and feather the clutch to get it going then you still have to keep rpm's up to keep it moving. So i removed carbs and cleaned and installed. Same problem. I got a can of staring fluid and sprayed all sealing points and engine rpm didnt change, I sprayed around stator and in clutch cover hoping to find a crank seal causing this but engine tone doesnt change at all. I think I have eleminated a vacume leak. What am I missing? There is not fuel leaking out of carbs or out of exhaust and engine seems to be running on both cylinders. Quote
Paddleboy Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 are your carbs in sync? that might be a reason Quote
FREAKSHOW Posted December 29, 2008 Author Report Posted December 29, 2008 carbs are synced and adjusted . they are indexed properly also. Quote
Wildcardracing Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 What sprockets are you running? Could it be just geared high? What are all of your mods, elevation and jetting? Could also be a midrange jetting issue. Quote
T_Shee Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 does the quad roll freely? no bad bearings or anything? Quote
FREAKSHOW Posted December 29, 2008 Author Report Posted December 29, 2008 I have 13- 41 gearing and it seems to roll as easy as my other shee. I jacked up the rear and rotated the rear axle all is well. I'm not sure of my pilot jet (and its clean) but my main is a 310. I am at 1350 ft elivation and engine has no mods other than wiseco pistons. No port work and head is not shaved. Too Fat on main jet? could that cause this big of problem. I pulled plugs and they dont seem to be overly saturated. Quote
Wildcardracing Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 If the bike is bone stock(stock pipes, stock filter ect.) Then you should be somewhere around 210-220 on your main jet. Quote

2 Stroke Fury Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 I'll be dammed, same year Shee I have... Same problem too except I can get mine to go after you rev it high. It will bogg out then it will decide it wants to go. I was talkin to someone who builds these bikes and he said change the jet. I am running w/o the airbox lid on. Quote

It will bogg out then it will decide it wants to go. I was talkin to someone who builds these bikes and he said change the jet. I am running w/o the airbox lid on. exactly like mine in symptoms, exept i just put some pipes on. i'm running 310's 27.5 pilot, and it's still too lean on the pilot side. i'm gonna put lid back on for now which will help it double richen and suck more in high r's. i was getting close last night, but every one was getting impatient. it was also 17 below. airscrew all the way in and it just started to bring the idle up richer, i was up to the middle clip richening in steps, and the silencers need packing. i'll let you know how far i have to go to get it dialed when i'm done, or you can post in jetting to get it dialed in quicker. also check your packing to help your low end a little. back pressure has a big effect on the bottom Quote
