I blew up my engine today and it seems that i need to replace the crankshaft. im thinking of replacing the crankshaft with

1-hotrods +4mm 115mmrods

2-hotrods longrods shaft stock stroke

3-Stock

all of them are trued and welded

i ride for long hours non stop, which one is most relaiable.

which crank do you think is the best for me

if i chose to increase the stroke is it a must to do some porting

if you got the money i'd do a 4 mill. you dont need to do porting if you get the spacer to move the intake and exhuast ports

i found some nice kits on ebay which includes everything ranging from $600 to $750

will i need any machining done on my heads or cyllinders done beside the boring ? this kit comes with the wiseco795 pistons

that kit comes with the base spacer plate so you shouldnt have to mill your head or get domes if you have a coolhead. i say shouldnt cuz i havent gotten that far with mine so let me know how that kit works

if the kit comes with a spacer plate, you do not need to mill the head or have stroker domes. the spacer plate is what i am using until i get my jugs ported or get a cheetah or cub. ive had it for about 6 months now. no problems.

how do you like your 4mm stroker, which kit you're using and from where you got it?, did you notice that much differance ? my setup will be the kit i posted + bored stock carbs + shaved head (until i get bigger carbs)

i have on my shee V-force reeds, timing plated DMC aliens k&n pods

i bought my crank from rjatv, i think it was like $400. i bought my pistons, seals and gaskets from motosport. altogether total of the parts was like $600. it was the 4mill long rod hotrods crank with wiseco 795 pistons.

it wasnt a huge difference in power due to the port timing being off because its not ported for the 4mill crank, but its a good platform to build on and its not that much more expensive than a stock stroke crank. i couldnt afford to port right away but i figured in the long run a ported 4mill would be better than a ported stocker.

Dude Iam telling ya now if yo got the few extra bucks to have it ported and such do it..

Its deffinatly "cheaper" to go the e-bay route and base plate and all but in the long run its much better to get your stuff from a reputable builder and have it ported for the 4mill and your riding needs.. I had Jeff at F.A.S.T. Racing do all my port and motor work and Iam very happy with how it runs.. The 4mill is deffinatly the way to go and is a huge difference. BUT put the proper portwork with it and its that much better... Just food for thought.. Otherwise if you do just decide to get parts Jeff can help you there to.. He has TONS of stuff in stock and unlike e-bay is able to answere questions.. Good luck!
