AKheathen Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 just got done rebuilding motor went to fill up with antifreeze and started leaking where the bottom of the cylinders meets the top of the crank case on the right side have no clue why is a rubber gasket go there or is it the regular one drain the coolant, loosen and retorque the bolts 1 at a time, then tip the bike on it's ass, fuel off, throttle open to make sure none is in the crank, then, if it still leaks, you'll have to replace them. and make sure they're clean and scuffed. did you loose a dowel? banshee_terror_ Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 dont know if there sapose to be ruber cant help u there but like the other guy said retorqe them flip it back drain the crank. also when i do my gaskets i allways throw permitex on them or also known as high heat silicone. that helps alot and never had a problem with it. firebanshee Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 just got done rebuilding motor went to fill up with antifreeze and started leaking where the bottom of the cylinders meets the top of the crank case on the right side have no clue why is a rubber gasket go there or is it the regular one There is typically no coolant at the base gasket it could be trickling down from the head the only way i could think that you have a leak at the base gasket is the big rubber plug that goes in the bottom of the cylinder could be leaking or a crack some where. The crank case just has air fuel mixture. AKheathen Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 i feel dumb now. :shoothead: it's about time my fellings caught up with my mentality. could it be the rad hose leaking down the back side of the jugs? or the head gasket where u can't see? Quote
Wiz Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 like said above it is either a radiator hose leaking down or the big rubber plugs on the bottom of the cyclenders, or possably from around the head but you would most likely see water running down the cyclenders in that case.... Quote
BanditOnTheBanshee Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 i had this same problem before and i forgot to tighten the drain bolt on the right side of the cylinder. Quote
