The orange wire on harness shorted out against the head and killed my cdi box. I replaced it with an older model cdi and now I only get a spark the first kick and none after. I color matched all the wires from my harness to the cdi that I replaced it with. The only color wire i'm not using is a green/yellow wire from my harness. What do you guys think the problem is? Thanks

i'm thinkin tors? is it still pluged in? if so, try push the throttle a little, and see if it sparks.

Orange wire in the harness hould have went ot the coil from the CDI...from the sounds of it you ditched the plug ins from the CDI and the harness and hard wired it in? the CDI plugs did not match yours so you cut the plugs and wired that way? I would try the TORS like said above, except diconnect all of it and unplug the module in the harness..If that does not work buy a book use the wiring diagram and build your own wiring harness they are not that hard I have built several.

Tors removed. I have PWKs. My harness and the connectors on the replacement CDI are different so that's why I cut the connectors off my old CDI and color matched them on the replacement.

ohm check your stator. not sure what it should be, but could've burned up

and i am assuming that the cdi had 2 more wire than the harness? Are you sure your CDI was bad? could have coil shorting out also..

No, my harness has one more wire than the CDI has(green/yellow striped). I ohmed the stator and it was good. I checked the primary on the coil and it was .4 and I checked the secondary by ohming between the two spark plug leads....isn't that correct?

I found out the black wire on my key switch was bad and i jus tied the black and red wires together to bypass it. Now it acts as if it wants to crank but I still dont think i'm getting consistant spark from the plugs. Could the coil be causing this? The plugs are new plugs by the way.

i belive the red and brown wires go together, and the black, and black/white wires stay disconnected.
