hotrodbanshee Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 Has anyone tried the e3 diamond fire spark plugs yet? I think they are about $10 each. Is it worth the extra money or just stick with the ngk's? Quote
docjcwatson Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 Stick with NGK's. Drag cars with oodles and oodles of horsepower run NGK's. That's what i'm gunna run! Quote
2001Stroker Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 I was in a pinch the other day, and bought some for my backpack blower. If advance auto parts was closer than home depot, and I wasn't running out of sunlight, I would have replaced the NGK with another NGK. I'm partial to them. I think they were almost $6 for the e3. And come to find out, the carb just needed cleaned. So, I put the 11 year old NGK back in it. Runs like a top. Quote
Handyman Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 I run the E3s in my 2006 silverado and I noticed a small gain in gas mileage...My ass dyno couldn't tell any BIg difference but the numbers on the mileage had a small gain...Going to run the E3's in my wife's car next...As far as the shee goes...I'll stick to NGK's Quote
jbooker82 Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 You can make your own $15 dollar performance plug by side gapping it. It is an old school hot rod trick. Here watch the video. http://www.instructables.com/id/Save-Gas-A...Side-Gapping-S/ Quote
grizzly700 Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 I cross referenced e3's and I don't think they make one that fits the shee. They only add lil 4-5hp on a 500+hp v8 so prolly Wouldnt do much for ur shee. Srry Quote
hotrodbanshee Posted November 19, 2008 Author Report Posted November 19, 2008 There is a chart on e3's website and it shows it to be part# E3.30 I cross referenced e3's and I don't think they make one that fits the shee. Is it worth the extra money or just stick with the ngk's? back to the original question asking if n e 1 tried them yet. i was toying with developing a similar design for a while after analizing inherant flaws of the platnum+4 plug. my sled still sports a denso irridium decal even though i switched to ngk gold pilladium when i had to change the heat range in a pinch. the denso's do provide noticable gains, but are harder to come by, and sported a 28 dollar sticker last time i baught. n e ways, i am dying to know if anyone has unbiasedly tried them out, and what mods they have. my bike isn't ideal to try them yet, cus the temp is between 0 and 10 lately and can't get a good base comparison.
