toomey hush kit?

was wondering if the toomey hush kit is worth gettin. i've noticed not too many people run them. im wonderin if they work or not and if they decrease the performance of toomey pipes noticebly??

ya i do...its ok...i would prefer without...if you are looking for the decibel decrease then yes..but otherwise get the other ones..

I've got one....it seems to be just as loud, just adds the spark arrestor for me. Its not the greatest looking either.

yeah, its kinda bulky and i cant run my stock 04 taillight (cuz its so big)..Its functional though for those places that require a spark arrestor..this is the only reason why i bought mine..

I have run one for a year and a half now and love mine. Really like the lower dB level. Mine is polished and doesn't look too bad. Had to mod the rack and tail light though.

I have ran one alot in the dunes at Florence Or. were they are real sticklers on noise and love to hand out noise tickets and if they see a hush kit on your banshee they wont even pull you over and check you.The hush kit never seemed to hurt the performance.

spark arrestors just basically prevent exhaust packing and particles from flying out and "polluting" where your riding...lol

they're to make sure that a backfire through the exhaust doesn't cause a fire or explosion. i should probably have one on my bike, since i ride around a natural gas plant. inboard boats have them over the carbs instead of filters, so the gas fumes don't explode in the engine compartment if it backfires through the carb.
