davesgarage Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 i have a 2001 banshee with a 35mm carb kit installed....it started right up on the second kick but will only rev up good with the choke on...dont want to test drive it until it is fairly close on the jetting...turn the choke off and it just boggs from idle to midrange Quote

I've messed with the air and idle screws and made it slightly better, but it still only runs like it should with the choke on. Quote
RadarRacing Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 Choke on is really lean. Could be pilot but if it fires up I'd say go 4-8 sizes richer at least on the main before you ride. 35mm keihins often run in the 148-165 range jetting, 45-55 pilot. You didnt say what carbs keihin or mikuni. Quote

Snopczynski Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 It looks like your giving jet specs for dual carbs, thats real lean. This guy has a single carb. What jetting is in the carb? Quote
davesgarage Posted October 14, 2008 Author Report Posted October 14, 2008 THE CARB IS A KEIHIN 35MM PWK. THE JETS ARE CURRENTLY 188 MAIN AND 50 PILOT. ALSO I HAVE THE NEEDLE MOVED TO THE TOP POSITION. I INSTALLED NEW PLUGS THIS MORNIN AND FIRED IT UP. I RAN IT FOR 30 SEC OR SO WITH THE CHOKE OFF AND PULLED THE PLUGS. THEY WERE BOTH JUST SOAKED WITH GAS. THE KIT HAD 190 MAIN AND 52 PILOT AND THE NEEDLE IN THE MIDDLE POSITION WHEN I BOUGHT THE KIT. Quote
Snopczynski Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 TURN OFF YOUR CAPS LOCK! You need to also list the needle and clip position your at. Air screw Turns out? Has the float level been checked? Quote
desertdeweller Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 (edited) I just put one on mine yesterday to see if I will like it or not. the needle is on the 3rd position dek 52 pilot 185 main. it starts fine and revs clean. Idk if this will be my final setting I won`t get a chance to ride it for a couple of weeks. But your not to far off from where mine is so I would look at the float level. of coarse depnding on your mods you may need more or less jetting Edited October 14, 2008 by desertdeweller Quote
