Face Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 I know everyone has thier own oppinions, but I need to know if this will work. I usually run gear saver 80wt trans oil. since I moved to Wyoming I cant get it as easily, the Yamaha shop here has Yamilube trans oil, is this stuff good enough to run or what. Quote
BellicoseBanshee Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 Manual says SAE 10W30 motor oil, just use that. I have never used anything but gear oil, but many use 10W30... Quote
spike Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 you got to watch when using 10w30 most of them have Energy conserving additives which will burn up your clutch in a hurry. 10w40 is less likely to have that stuff. I use 10w40 4 stroke motorcycle oil. made for wet clutch applications  Quote
BellicoseBanshee Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 That is a good point, spike. Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Motul is the only thing i use! Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Walmart ATF Type F works just fine, It's like 10 bux for a 5 quart jug! Quote
Bansh-eman Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Walmart ATF Type F works just fine, It's like 10 bux for a 5 quart jug! BINGO Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 I'll never use anything from wal mart on my banshee Quote
Snopczynski Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 I would never put anything but Maxima MTL 85w endurance fluid in my bike. I order it through rocky mountain when I buy 2 stroke sauce also (castor 927). Saves me money over the dealer even with the shipping. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 I'll never use anything from wal mart on my banshee I buy my trans oil (ATF Type F) and the oil for my Diesel (Rotella-T) from Wal-Mart runs fine. Nothing wrong with either of them Quote
