I figured i'd upgrade to some PWK's 35mm. So I took off the PJ's 34mm and thats were the problems start.

 

Got the PWK's used. Cleaned them, checked everything out. Here's what I got. 492 cheetah PV. Floats are set at 16mm. Tried 48 and a 52 pilot. CEL needle, mid clip. 155 main. Air screw 1 1/2 turns out.

 

Got it started and it runs like shit. Runs like the choke is on, and its not. Dont know why, but I tried taking it for a ride. Barley made it out of the yard. Power valves are spitting gas like crazy? never did that before. Ran good before I put these carbs on.

 

Let me know what you guys think.

are they in sync?

 

I've had the needle come out of the slide on one of my PWK's and plug the jet tunnel or w/e you wanna call it. My bike ran exactly how you describe. But i doubt this is your problem if the carbs are new

What did you have for jetting with the other carbs? Your jetting sounds close enough to get it to run desent.
Jetting on the PJ's was 150 main, 55 pilot, and CEL 2nd clip.

Figured it out today. Floats were set at 18.75mm. Flooded the motor out. O well, seems to run good now.

How are those PJ carbs?

Are you thinkin about selling?

I have a mild modded shee, would 34 be to much you think?

Pj's will be up for sale as soon as I clean them up and take some pictures.

 

Anyway. xX-Xx has a set on his, and it runs good.

yep, i have a set and love them. i`ll never go smaller then 34mm and i have no porting.

That dont make sence to me you set them at 18.75mm and it flooded yet you reset them to 16mm and it stopped. How? 16mm lets in more fuel in the bowl before it shuts off the float valve doesnt it??? So it should run richer at 16mm than 18.75mm.

Your right. I had that backwards. Its kinda hard to measure floats. Every time I did it got a different reading. Anyway runs like a raped ape on speed now.
