Hi thanx I need the centreline lengths of each cone/section and the diameters. In case you dont know the centreline is as it would run through the exact centre of the pipe. You can do this by measuring the pipes sections in 4 points 0,90,180,270 degrees around the pipe then average out the 4 lengths you have. If you need anymore details please ask.

Ok Ive done a complete electrical test and everything is as it should be. The spark is nice fat and blue. Source coils and pick up is fine, HT coil is good and all earths check out. Checked Loom, coil, source coil, pickup, HT leads, plug caps etc

Thanx for the response. AS is at 1.75 turns and the mains are maybe a little lean but seem safe. Im running pump gas at 40:1 mix. Its the lowend I cant seem to get right upto about 3/8 throttle.

Hi guyz I run dual pwk33's on a moderatley ported 350 Im at 150asl temp 60-80. Ive tried 142-155mains, 40-48 Pilot, CEL,CEN,DEN,BEQ,CEQ,CGQ needles, #5 & #6 TV It seems to run best at CGQ, 2 clip, 145 mains, 40 pilot, #6TV. But it still 4 strokes below 1/4 throttle. What could be happening here any ideas for what to check as this jetting is way off what others are running.

That dont make sence to me you set them at 18.75mm and it flooded yet you reset them to 16mm and it stopped. How? 16mm lets in more fuel in the bowl before it shuts off the float valve doesnt it??? So it should run richer at 16mm than 18.75mm.

I can tell you that a mikuni 250 is equal or near to a 135 keihin jet so your calcs are a bit off.

Well lets put it this way if its good enough for HRC to do them on the NSR500 its good enough for me. They did them for a reason not just for fun and I believe the people whe set these up know far more than you and I. Im not saying if you dont do them anything will happen at all. Im saying I will carry on doing them as it brings piece of mind. I guess that not everyone in the world is an expert like you at setting your mixture. But stop knocking it as a bad thing its not a bad thing at all its a great tool for the layman to sort his mixture.

I for one will do plug chops as its far cheaper than a blown motor.

So what carb settings did you finally end up on please?

Ok tries CEL and CEN needles and the CEN has cleaned up the lower end great. Now though if I snap open the throttle the engine seems to cut out then as the revs rise it picks up. What would this be?

A 6 slide is a number 6 throttle slide. Engine is heavily ported and with modified std reedblocks It pulls full throttle fine on 160 mains Its the lowerend throttle response thats poor upto about 3/8 throttle after that it seems great.

Im at 100ft ASL Its a dual 35 setup not a 2 into 1 sorry I should have said.

Hi all I live in the UK at a height above sea level of about 100ft or so. Average temp when riding is 80 is degrees. My engine is basically half a banshee pushing out around 30+ bhp at the rear wheel. I have both 33 and 35 PWK carbs that I want to try on her. Can anyone give me some idea as to where to start with fueling etc please? My engine runs foam pod filter, highly ported, 6.6:1 CR, well designed exhaust and peaks at 9500rpm. TIA Regards Kenny
