stripping the wire harness

i searched for the topic and couldnt find it.what wires can i cut out of the harness to delete this hack job of taped up plugs and stuff...its a 96 harness...no lights/kill switch.. etc.

If you had a claymer manual you would have a wiring diagram. I would put a honda cr killl swithc in place of the kill switch on the bars. It plugs right in to the stock harness, or it did on my 97.

ahh yea i forgot about the manual. not gonna run a kill switch though,i already have a tether kill on it

Get rid of the middle section of the harness and plug the CDI directly into the stator plug. Make sure all black wires go to ground..get rid of yellow/black wires. Bypass the key switch by twisting the red? and black/white? wires together. NOt 100% sure about those wire colors. Cut the CDI bracket off of the rear and re weld it on the front under the tank (with tank, and all electrical components removed), or use double sided tape and mount the CDI on the botom of the tank, if you don't ride on real rough areas.

 

 

Someone will chime in with the specifics on the key bypass, I'm sure.

over half of that harness is black ground wires from the TORS system. cut all that shit out for sure. my harness is like 4 wires.

I just got done cutting out all the unused plugs on my 04 shee , Could probably use a little more cleaning up in the future .
