2-stroke_couch Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 ok so i bought this banshee less than a week ago and ive been trying to get it to run since. it is my first one and i live in colorado for to make jetting weird but not so much. so the problem is that the only way it will start is if i cover one carb with my hand and barley allow air in, then when it fires up i have to take my hand off and tighten up the airfilter. it will not idle it just dies. it also sounds boggy and has no midrange power only top....it also has bad reaction timeing. if i cover the left carb and start it the right cylinder has less exhaust pressure and if i cover the right carb they are the same. it will only idle at half choke. and has really bad midrange power. the carbs are clean i have done a carb over haul and i tried overriding the tors and that wasnt the problem. maybe the timing plate needs to be adjusted but im not sure. the compression is both cylinders is good and the same. PLEASE HELP Quote
hylander88 Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 sounds to me you have an air leak somewhere....how do the choke seem....try pulling on it a little but not setting it. the O-ring in there wear out and could be the problem.... Quote

Tim Potteiger Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 You can test the air leak theory (which sounds likely) very easily with a propane torch. Just turn on the gas and start "sniffing" around the intakes while idling. If the RPM comes up, you found it. Quote
dajogejr Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 (edited) I use Carb Cleaner....warm the bike up....soak one area at a time, intakes first..then base gaskets. With carb cleaner, the RPMs will die rather than raise...though. Edited September 21, 2008 by dajogejr Quote
