AWD_XTC Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 I was talking to a friend that has a shee and I never knew that his was stroked until the other day. He rebuilds his about ever other year. I was wondering how reliable are these motors. I see trinity has kits up to something like 610cc. How would a kit like that affect the longevity of the block itself? Also how much do the strokers affect the top end performance of the bike? I don't want to go 610cc but I was thinking of maybe going 421cc or 485cc Quote
sinisterboo Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 They last just as well as any other banshee setup. But, the 4mm stroker with a 5mm longer rods works best. The longer rod takes a lot of stress out of the stroker crank. But, just like any other setup, longevity depends on you and how you take care of it. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 With proper tolerances and good maintnace it will last just like any other motor. Quote
wesw Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 had a 4mm setup stock jugs ran the piss out of it for almost 2yrs. i run 927 oil, good gas, keep the filters cleaned and etc. pulled the jugs off and put a bore gauge in and they were .001 different top to bottom and thats damn good honed them out and they were good to go. its all in how you run the bike and take care of it. AWD_XTC Posted September 8, 2008 Author Report Posted September 8, 2008 Ok so how big can you go without loosing to much top end? I mean I dont want to lose so much rpm that I am stuck at 65 mph you know. Quote
