Does any one here run the MSD ignition? http://www.msdpowersports.com/atv_yamahabanshee.html

To the top

OK, now on a motor like that what should the compression be? I was also looking at this one too. http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/rvs/826212823.html
-
Not sure I tried to search google and I found some bikes that had 410 kits but it never said who made it.
-
Ok, so if I go check thi thing out what types of problems should I be looking for?
-
HAHAHA thats what I was thinking.
-
Yeah I wanted to buy a stock bike but I was thinking that money is a bit tight now and if I can get something with a few mods I will be better off as long as it's not a hack job. What all should I look for?
-
I was wondering if you guys could tell me what you would offer this guy for his shee? http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/mcy/827705188.html

Ok so how about the non cub strokers? Would one of those be good for other riding other than dunes or drag?
-
I see people talking about this and I see it on sites like trinity racing, so what exactly is the difference between say the trinity 421 Cheetah Engine Kit and the 421 cheetah cub engine kit?
-
Ok so how big can you go without loosing to much top end? I mean I dont want to lose so much rpm that I am stuck at 65 mph you know.
-
I was talking to a friend that has a shee and I never knew that his was stroked until the other day. He rebuilds his about ever other year. I was wondering how reliable are these motors. I see trinity has kits up to something like 610cc. How would a kit like that affect the longevity of the block itself? Also how much do the strokers affect the top end performance of the bike? I don't want to go 610cc but I was thinking of maybe going 421cc or 485cc

What type of motor work is right for me?

Thanks I was thinking about having the aggressive trail port done. I have not done that mod yet. Just got the bike actually. Also what pipes would be good. I have a friend that has a shee with fmf pipes and another that has toomey pipes. Would the toomey T6 be good? I heard that they don't like port work and to get either the fmf or the toomey T5. -
I have a stock shee and I am new to 2 strokes except for an old 80cc bike I had as a kid. I ride trails and open field alot. I was thinking about having some porting done by herr juggs. I was wondering what port ob I should go with. I want maximum power but I don't want to shift the power up so high into the rpm range that it becomes unusable. Also What other engine work should I consider doing? Different carb setup, reeds, etc. would it be a good Idea to stroke my shee? I like the idea of being able to use high rpms but the idea of extra torque is nice. I don't really do a lot of hill climbing and I never ride dunes. So what are your suggestions? Thanks.

ok thats what I really want, the ability to change my setup for different riding. I men I may ride trails most of the time but why limit myself to just that.
-
I live in North West PA, a small town called Oi City.
-
I live in PA so trail riding is going to be about 95% of my riding. I like to hit up some jumps too, nothing crazy but I just want to make sure I have a suspension that can handle it.
-
well I was thinking about using fox evols as I saw on here that you can use an a-arm setup from a raptor either that or this setup http://janssenmotorsports.com/product_info...2772edb599a344f
-
Ok thanks, so I assume then that you would want a certain setup for a certain kind of riding like for dunes. How do you know what control arms to buy?
-
I always see numbers for things like control arms like +2 +1 etc what do they mean and how do you choose what combination you want/need?
-
Ok thanks I was not sure if they changed the gearing from say like 1999 to 2001 etc.
-
I don't know about on plastics but if they are clear coated like a car then I would use P21s wax and Klasse paint sealer both can be found here http://www.autopia-carcare.com/

Hello everyone I am new here. I am in the market for my first Banshee. I was wondering if there were and advantages to a certain year versus another or any year model I should stay away from etc. Thanks in advance.
