themudgician Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 hi i bought a quad the other day and ive been having trouble with no mid power. i pulled the stator cover off and it says -5 shouldnt it be advanced for more bottom end power. Quote
LS1Inferno Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 yes when you advance it it gives more bottom. but you loose some of the RPM off the redline because of the stock timing curve. if you are after more bottom the most popular and pump gas safe is +4 Quote
dajogejr Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 As long as you are using the case split mark as a timing reference....yes, set it at +4 and run it. Night and day difference... Quote
themudgician Posted September 2, 2008 Author Report Posted September 2, 2008 ya it is at -5 at the split Quote
LS1Inferno Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 this may explain why my quad is such a bastard quad but is still absolutely fast as fuck yeah that prlly gave you a few hundred more rmps up to but you also risk blowing it up if it spins too fast for the bottom end. you ever seen a rod through the case? you DO NOT WANT TO. its expensive Quote
