yamshe Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 i bought a shee and it does not have a vin on it i looked on the frame were it is suposed to be and its not there i did not recive a tittle either and in wisconsin you need to register to ride any where exsept on private land so how in the hell do i go about geting a reg sticker for it Quote

If someone ground off the VIN your pretty much screwed. If the VIN has been powder coated over you will have to remove the powder coat. You should have gotten a title or a bill of sale with the bike. blanco Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 i just went thrugh the same thing here in utah, first you contact the dmv and explain to them what you just bought and if you have a bill of sale (which hopefully you do, if not get one now!) thay will give you a form and ask for pics of the bike than thay will have a cop come out and verify its not stolen (thay try and match it up to stolen bikes) then after a million questions he will install a new vin and the dmv will send a title in the mail, Quote

yamshe Posted August 30, 2008 Author Report Posted August 30, 2008 might just be easier to get a used frame with clean vin and bill of sale. i di not get a bill of sale because i had a friend go pick it up 4 me and he 4 got 2 ask 4 one i could not pick it up because iam on house arest 4 a dui i dont have the sellers # anymore but i could probly stop by his house when i get set free in november i was also thinking i could just try to find someone with a junk frame or something and use their vin as long as it is not stolen that should take care of it Quote
