  1. Pipes have been sold!
  2. I was unable to post a picture due to size, I'll try again later. In the mean time if anyone wants a pic, just leave me an email address. Thanks, Daren
  3. I have a like new set of chrome Shearer big bore inframe pipes for sale. I purchased them from A&S Racing for my 535 Cheetah. I then sold my Banshee with my out of frames so I have these pipes just laying around. They have a few very minor blemishes in the chrome from packaging and one pipe has two very small dings on the inside. They looked awesome and pulled hard on my Banshee. I paid $670 plus shipping will sell for $500 and I'll pay the shipping.
  4. Powervalves, hmmm. Took the springs out and found 14 hp. Didn't seem like they were sticking, but the dyno obviously indicated that they were. Richard, love the quote!
  5. Quickest I've ran at Bonne Terre was a 4.19 @ 74.9 mph. I hope I'm getting my problems lined out. The pipes stayed on last weekend and I think I'll have the reed problem fixed soon. See you all soon, Daren
  6. I plan to be there that weekend.
  7. I can't flattrack my 535, but I'd be willing to run ya on a straight track, preferably a smooth one. We could even bring out the 400 Cheetah. As far as torque, my Cheetah made 60 ft-lbs of torque on the dyno over a wide rpm range. I don't see that running it on a flattrack would make sense anyways, can't keep the front end down with a +12.
  8. That 400 on alcohol made right at 90 hp on the dyno.
  9. Chris, you have drag pipes on your shee now??
  10. Richard, it isn't Scoobies DS. It was one by DSWorks. You can watch it over here at my place. It doesn't take long at all with the DSL.
  11. I have considered buying a set of CUSTOM Shearers for my 10 mm Cheetah. I just prefer inframe pipes over drag pipes. But I don't want to lose any power swapping from my bb cpi drag pipes to a set of inframes. It would be disappointing to spend $600+ and then go to the dyno to find out that it lost power. I'm not saying that it would, but if it did. . . Maybe I should just keep my drag pipes and spend the money on a nitrous system. Daren
  12. Sweet, guess I need to drop the cash and try 'em out.
  13. LOOKIN' GOOD! How much do those custom Shearers cost??
  14. bizkitboy2000, Were the custom Shearer pipes for your Cheetah inframes or out? I've been considering switching back to an inframe pipe on my Cheetah. I'm wondering about the fit and performance. Would I have to run offset intake manifolds with them? Thanks, Daren
  15. My tires are hooking up great, the problem is keeping the front end down. I finally got my 18 & 19 tooth front sprockets and now my track has closed down except for a couple Sunday events. Hopefully I'll get the chance to run with that setup yet this year before it completely closes down.
  16. It won't help if the front end doesn't stay down. It has plenty of traction, it needs a wheelie bar to achieve the 1.3 - 1.4 60 ft times. But that will be my last course of action.
  17. Girls?! Feel again.
  18. Flattrack'nit, my engine is a 535 Cheetah on race gas. It is a fun engine. That 6.68 was with a +12 swingarm, no wheelie bar, a 2-5 not a 1-5 override and running out of gear. The largest front sprocket that I had was a 17 and the smallest rear that I had was a 40. A friend loaned me a 38 rear and well the chain came apart. I won't ever again run a rear sprocket less than a 40. With the 17/40 it was running out of gear. I should be getting my 18 and 19 front this week, so if I am off work Friday I'll be heading to the strip to see what it'll do. I expect it will run at least in the 6.5s and break 100 mph. Here is my best 300 ft sand timeslip in only two nights of racing (70x):
  19. I didn't know that Duncan changed chromers. That is a shame. I haven't bought a set of their pipes since 1999. But about the performance CPI vs PTR Hi-Revs, believe what you want. I owned them both, have you? I'm trying to help by telling my personal experiences. Both pipes ran the same times on my 420 Banshee 1/8th mile asphalt and 300ft sand. I've got CPIs on my new bike. Why? Because I have had good luck with them and they made more power on the dyno than "Brand X" did. Of course, when I called and told "Brand X" that, they didn't think that sounded right either. Why would I lie about the performance? I don't have anything to gain. He asked if the pipes are good, and hell yeah I think they are good pipes. I'm not trying to start something here, but I don't necessarily like when someone thinks I'm full of crap. Daren
  20. That seems to be the wave of the future. Many people are running the very long front-ended frames. I just don't like how they look and from the performance that I've been seeing, I'm not too impressed. Besides it is more cost effective to use a longer swingarm than spending the money to stretch the front. I think that I'm going to go to St. Joe tomorrow, but I might wait until Sunday. I might go both days. I'm not sure yet. I might just load the shee up in the truck and leave all the extra stuff at home this weekend. I do have to lower the gearing back down. That won't take me too long. I need to clean it up some too. I might even wait until I get there to play with the gearing. It'll run 94.6 mph on asphalt with the gearing that is in it now (17/40). My bigger front sprockets finally got shipped, so maybe I'll get to run the 1/8 next Friday with enough gear to pull all the way through. Here is my best timeslip so far with the too short 17/40 gearing.
  21. I used to have them on my stock Banshee. Then it was upgraded to a 420 Long Rod. I really liked those pipes. The 420 ran the same 1/8th mile times with the PT Hi-Revs and with the CPI inframes. They are really freaking expensive, like $700 from Duncan for the chromed ones. Their chrome probably is the best out there.
  22. Thanks for the nice words. You going to St. Joe this weekend? I'm thinking about going tomorrow, not sure though.
  23. My 10mm Cheetah on race gas with 35 PWKs. The low hp run was the first run with wrong timing curve, different pipes, and the powervalves were not opening. The last run was the best with the best curve on my Dyna, the better pipes, and with the springs out of the powervalves. It didn't scan the best, but it'll have to do.
  24. I've ran my totally stock DS 650 at our local strip with the best of 8.96 seconds, but consistent 9.1s and 9.2s @ 69-70 mph. The DS 650 does not wheelie easily so he'll probably do well off the line. My friends Banshee with Paul Turner Hi-Rev pipes, Pro Flow Uni air filter, and jetted can beat my DS (he only weighs 140lbs). As a matter of fact he set his new personal best this past Friday night at 8.59 seconds. He normally runs 75 mph.
  25. Its me, Daren on BansheeHQ and on AtvConnection. I ran those times with a gas 400 Cheetah, not a stock engine. Sorry you guys didn't get that inside joke. I have that in my profile to poke a little fun of the guys that list every little thing they have on their bike, and partially to keep some people in suspense as to what I am running. Daren P.S. Those numbers are what it ran prior to its new owner. After he bought the 400, it ran a 7.33 with his FTZ alcohol Mikuni carbs. Then he took it to the dyno and after getting it tuned it made 90 hp (about a 15 hp gain).
