We'll see about that, lol. I'm not afraid to line up against anyone or anything... even if I know I'll get beat. It's always nice to see how mine compares to better bikes. I'm hoping to take some leave sometime in the summer and drive down with the shee... hopefully take a month off and do some serious sand shredding. St. Anthony's the closest set of dunes to me, but they're about 5 hours away, and I didn't get to make it down there this summer. There's always labor day weekend though.

Hmmmm... could it possibly be that you're just a better rider than him? Maybe he didn't have any engine work done either, and the 10 paddle (way too much for a most pipped shees) were bogging his motor down. Maybe he had old plugs, or doesn't do regular maintenance. You have to consider these things before you start rippin' on someone and their quad/mods. I've ridden several pipped shee's... fmf, pro-circuit, toomey, and sadly... DG. All were pretty similar... pipes, K&N, lid w/o snorkel, 90 octane, and stock gearing. The pro-circuit bike pulled the hardest out of all of them. Not saying it's better... it just performed better. I have DMC aliens on mine, not the 916, and I can honestly say that mine pulled harder than the pro-circuit bike... once again... with K&N, lid w/o snorkel, 90 octane, and stock gearing. Now were these fair tests... somewhat. Would have been better to have each pipe on the same bike to test like they do with exhaust shoot-outs. But that's not possible when you're out fucking around. I'd say compare the facts yourself. That's what I did, and that's why I chose DMC... they were the only one's at the time I was looking that actually had dyno results posted on their website supporting a shee with a K&N and pipes... like most people run. I'd say after having mine on for the summer.. I'm extremely happy and content with them, and wouldn't trade them for anything considering I'm trying to bridge the gap between all types of riding... woods/trails, track, drag, and sand.

Maybe you just have your shee facing the wrong direction. The sound is always behind you if you're running in the opposite direction. I haven't gotten to put the DMCs up against an evenly matched banshee since people here in Montana seem to be afraid 2 stroke quads. I've seen maybe 4 other banshees in the full year I've been here, and they looked like they were just truck bed decorations.

I prefer the sweet sound of DMC Aliens over any that I've heard.

If you get it back in pieces... you could tell yamaha that your's was stolen, but you built another one from scratch. That way if they give you anymore hell (like they are with me still) tell them their bike's long gone, and they can't do anything about it, lol.

Earthquake in Montana?
Screamin_Demon replied to Screamin_Demon's topic in General Banshee Discussion
You'll have to clarify what you meant by that... I read on a higher level. I hope, for your sake, that you are educated enough to realize that I live in Montana, and that the info I posted from CNN.com is the actual report that followed the morning after the quake. -
"(CNN) -- A 5.6 magnitude earthquake rumbled through southwest Montana late Monday, according to the National Earthquake Information Center Web site. The NEIC said the moderate quake struck at 10:08 p.m. (12:08 a.m. Tuesday ET) and was centered 13 miles north-northeast of Dillon, Montana, and 220 miles northeast of Boise, Idaho. A spokeswoman for the Beaverhead County Sheriff's Department said there were several reports of damage but no reports of injuries immediately after the temblor. Beaverhead County Commissioner Mike McGinley told CNN in a phone interview that so far, the damage found has been limited to pictures being shaken off walls and other minor incidents." CNN's report I couldn't believe what actually happened after I heard about it this morning. I had just sat up on the couch while watching tv, and felt like I was swaying back and forth. I looked at the coat closet door which was swinging back and forth, and then at my wife who was giving me the same look I was giving her... "Is everything moving or am I insane?" I actually thought our fat neighbor feel over on the floor or something. I guess that would have made an up-and-down shake instead of a side-to-side shake. We okies don't get scared by mother nature much... but the quake had us shocked with disbelief. Dillon is about 4-5 hours away from here, and we got a pretty good shake for about 10-15 seconds. Anyone else from around Dillon feel the quake? I like to find out how far away it was felt in each direction.

Dish network v/s Direct TV v/s Cable
Screamin_Demon replied to RNBRAD's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Ok... here's some insider info about DirecTV and Dishnetwork... from someone who's worked for DirecTV and is from Oklahoma. Don't worry... I won't sway your opinion for commision or sales... considering I no longer work for DirecTV, and haven't for almost 2 years. DirecTV is faaaarrrrrr better than Dishnetwork as far as prices, programming, and customer service. DirecTV offers more channels for your money than Dish... hands down. Dishnetwork's customer service actually referred a customer to DirecTV with a problem with Their receiver. I shit you not... I picked up the call from a woman who lost her signal and called Dish to find out what the problem was... only to be referred to DirecTV because they couldn't find her Dish account, and when the lady gave them her receiver's card number, the rep told her that it wasn't one of theirs, it was DirecTV's. The lady was so pissed off that she called us, told me that Dish obviously didn't want her as a customer, and said she was switching to DirecTV because of it. Last thing... DirecTV is extremely easy to get free programming from with no commitments. If you get setup between now and september, I believe, you'll be able to get over 250 bucks of programming per month at a cost of 89 or so a month, for 4 months, then you can drop back to normal programming. I may be off on the cost since it's been awhile and prices probably went up a bit. The offer is the NFL Sunday ticket new customer promotion. As far as anything after that... you can usually get showtime free for a month or so, as well as some others, just by calling and saying you weren't happy with some programming or the cost, and it's too expensive to add movie channels... or something to that effect. I gave out free showtime during their promotional all the time... as credit for missed ppv movies, over charges on bills, or as compensation for technical issues. DirecTV is almost always willing to through out some free programming instead of refunding you money that you've already paid... it's advertisment for the networks, and hopefully, if you like the free programming, more money for them if you order it later. And yes... the P4 + cards, and the test ones... H1 I think ( they were in limited circulation when I left) are in fact able to be hacked. It'll just cost you around 500 bucks if you can find someone to do it. But you get everything... even all the PPVs, sports packages, movie channels... etc... you makeup the cost in about 2 weeks during sports seasons. Just some FYI -
I couldn't stand it anymore.... i had to turn the channel and watch E-force on OLN.
-
Actually, I'm watching it right now... thought I'd see if it was any good. So far it hasn't appealed to me.
-
It's big... but public trans is the way to go. If you're in an accident there, you'll get screwed. Plus they're fucking crazy down there... I watched a guy on vacation from the US get hit by a local. Poor guy had rented a crotch rocket 3 hours before the accident.... got sideswipped by a farm truck.

I've been in there at Maxey's a few times looking for parts. Actually just broke a clutch lever I bought from there, lol. Who knows... may have seen you around there, but that was a couple of years ago.

406-781-2427 This guy called me at 12:30 am... I answered, and he asked to speak to my wife. He then asked her about a party she had yesterday for women only... when she said it was the other day... he told her he's having a party tonight and told her and her friends to come over naked. He called back 5 mins after that with his number blocked, but was too scared to talk to me. I've signed him up online with a bunch of debt consolidation companies who are like rabid dogs when it comes to calling people. If anyone is bored... call the number above or sign the number up with companies who would call him. If you call yourself... post the conversation on here. If you sign the number up for products/services... post who you signed him up for. I just don't appreciate someone calling my house in the middle of the damn night being perverted on the phone to my wife. Let the games begin!!!

I have to admit... I had thoughts of how to assassinate that fool... but I actually found it quite funny. Someone with that much ignorance and stupidity makes me laugh. I would like to talk to him face to face though... with cotton balls in my ears. His comments about troops being stupid and not intelligent is true for some of the troops. I've seen some really stupid ones, and every branch of the military has a respectful spot for them... to which I won't name. They join because they don't have jobs that they're qualified for, and they need money. No big deal... they're still putting their lives on the line for that money. Truth of the matter is, the portions of the stupid troops is very minimal compared to the amount of troops who have average intelligence or above. Is the government going to let a completely ignorant person fly aircraft? How about perform maintenance on nukes? Bombs? Aircraft? Presedential security? I think not. Now before any of you "newbies", as everyone who has under 1,000 post seem to be getting named by others, start throwing a fit over what I've said.... I'd like to devulge some information to you. I AM in the military. I joined not only out of patriotism, but also to further my life in every aspect possible... education, financial stability, job security, benefits, and as a challenge to myself. I'd like to see that goofy lookin shit muncher work in CombatTalon's or my own line of work. Somehow I don't think he'd be much of a C-130 or ICBM technician. The hair cut and blank look on his face is a clear sign that he just doesn't have the balls for it. By the way CT... finally got rid of that first set of CDCs and got an 85 with a weeks worth of trying to study at night during training. Also finally got my PRP, but still waiting on that damn TS clearance to wrap up.

I bet everyone of the guys who have signed that petition love the thought of lesbians going at it. Hell, if I owned the Ford company, I'd support homos too. Can't say you only support lesbians and not gays... they're one group. It's like riding buddies. You want to ride with yamaha owners, but you have to support your honda, etc... owners as well.... they may know hot chics who ride yamahas. Maybe Dodge, GM, etc... are the ones everyone should boycott. Don't they love lesbians too??

can a 400 ex out climb a banshee

The VIN number still says it's Yamaha... so who's to argue? -
People make up stories and lie when they're scared.

can a 400 ex out climb a banshee
Screamin_Demon replied to sweetshee4312's topic in General Banshee Discussion
You are right in the aspect of rider skill. Some people can't control the 2 stroke snap from a banshee... and maybe you can keep your front end on the ground better than other EX riders. But you still forget that a banshee was built for sand riding and duning, and an EX was built for track/trail stability. There is no comparision for going uphill like the thrill and shear accleration of a banshee. We don't bitch like other sites. Other 4 stroke sites start bitching about banshee owners the second they hear the term "2 stroke". I guess the rumes from straight gas is getting to their heads... there's also the 250R, the 'zilla family', the blaster, and Mojave. We bitch about 4 Strokes in general, reguardless of the brand/model. Honda rules bitchez = bitchez ride honda I see mostly girls riding hondas back home. -
I thought about it, but had a buddy turn my wheel just in the "play zone" and the gearbox is dead on with the steering shaft below the joint, and the pitman arm moves, but the tires lag a bit. Plus my front end pops still while backing up. In my situation, I know what caused the damage besides it being a ford :rolleyes:and being 15 yrs old. The previous owner aired it out on a hillside and landed hard on the front end. Despite the front end problems and the transmission, can't beat a 4x4 SUV with a removable top, near perfect body, strong motor, 6 inch lift, 35x12.5x15 in procomp mud terrains, and a full brush guard for 3500.00. I figure the lift ran around 1500.00 with shocks, and the tires and rims ran about 1200.00... so the bronco itself ran 800.00.

For your steering... ford sucked ass in the early 90's with their twin traction beam front axles. I know this because i have a 90 full size Bronco and a 91 F-150 used for parts. I've replaced a steering gearbox, the full front steering setup (tie rods, drag link, inner links...) and radius arm bushings (arms coming from axle to frame). I still have play in my wheel, but not as much as I did. The only thing left for me to do is replace the ball joints... $50.00 a side, upper and lower ball joints, and the small u-joint/cv joint on the steering shaft itself. Here's a break down of what you're looking at for brand new parts... Steering gearbox $180.00 Tie rods, drag link inner tie rods $130.00 Ball joints (both sides upper and lower) $100.00 Steering shaft joint $??.?? Probably around 25 bucks. Grand total $400.00 - 450.00 Now, these figures are from Napa, and I have a military discount with them, so it may be more, or it may be less. They steering gearbox can be picked up at a salvage yard off of any F-150, 250, 350, or fullsize Bronco... 86 - 96 I believe. Everything else with have to be purchased brand new. If you hear popping sounds while turning... it's either ball joints, or tie rods. If you hear grinding or feel the wheel jerk really bad, it's probably the gearbox. If you hear neither of those and you're steering feels "squishy" and the wheel doesn't line up straight, it's probably just the joint on the steering shaft. Being that your truck is 12, going on 13 yrs old, start gradually replacing each of those items. You won't regret it in the long run. I bought my F-150 off of a co-worker for $200.00... doesn't run, but the body and various parts are good. You may want to find a deal like that for a couple hundred bucks... you'll save a shit load on parts. I took the gearbox, transmission, 2 doors, interior dash/door panels, and windows already... saved myself thousands of dollars for new parts, and only paid 200.00. A brand new chrome bumper for one runs around 130.00, and a taligate is about 99.00 (JC Whitney). They have just about the cheapest prices around for replacement panels and accessories. I'd gladly sell you mine, but shipping from MT to PA would n't be worth it.

Anyone going to be at St. Anthony's around July 4th weekend? I've got a couple of guys from my shop at Malmstrom AFB in Montana that are wanting to make the trip as well. Can't wait to get the newly modified shee on the sand once again.

Not exactly in school... doing on-the-job training while I'm waiting on my top secret clearance to go through. Laptop took a dump several months ago, so I'm not on as regular as I was. Still alive and kickin'.... you know me. Raced a guy on a brand new Honda 250F today, and was proud to report that despite the shee trying to wheelie through 3rd, I was either tied with him at the end, or 1 bike length behind him. I'm not the best rider, but he's grown up on dirt bikes and used to race, so I felt pretty good knowing my skill and the shee's new mods were able to keep up with him. COOL POINTS FOR ME!!!
-
Workin' on getting some pics as soon as my laptop's runnin' again. Hopefully that'll be sometime soon... depends on how quickly i can part out a 94 f-150 for some cash. A zoo doesn't even begin to describe it... but I won't go there today. Finally bought some breathing equipment.... K&N power kit w/adapter, DMC alien exhaust w/spark arrestors (required to street legalize), and some cascade chrome exhaust hangers (old one's broke causing the left front pipe to drop on a hard landing, which was then run over and bent). Also replaced all the chain rollers/sliders, new chain, rebuilt the upper swingarm with new bearings/spacers, and put a T.D.I./T.I.D. (whatever it is) case saver. She really woke up and became a whole new bike. It's sad that I've owned her for 3 years this april, and now I look like a newbie while riding and taking jumps. To tell you the truth, I don't like being around him that much... so when I decide to pop online, I usually go over to his place... but I wanted to see if my internet connection was still running or not so I could get things arranged to prevent being charged for something i can't use. Still paying for it, but i get refunded everything I've paid for the connection from January something to whenever it's being used again.... free cable/internet for 2 months!!! I'm actually trying to get leave scheduled to go home may 2-20, and was planning on hauling the banshee down with us so i could stop at little sahara for a few days... but my bronco isn't exactly road legal at the moment, and only gets 8 miles a gallon on a 25 gallon tank. The things you have to put up with for a 5.8L V-8 (soon to be bored from a 351 to a 400 or more). Pics soon guys.... gotta get all the mud off first!!!
