Greatest Comedy Movie Of All Time!
Cotton eyed Joe replied to thecabinboy's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I knew what you were talking about as soon as I read Ted Knights name. I haven't seen that movie in a long long time. When I was a kid I wanted to make clay-more bunnies and blow shit up like Bill Murrey. Later on in life I wanted to whack mums and philadendrions with a golf club. Sadly I've done neither. -
How Much Have You Dumped Her?
Cotton eyed Joe replied to txblueshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Bought new in 98, paddles, riding gear etc. $6,800 Around $2,000 before I totalled it. Another $2000-$3000 after I rebuilt it. -
Should I Lenghten My Swing Arm?
Cotton eyed Joe replied to ScreaminShee01's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Depends. Honestly I should fab a +4 for my bike, and I'm not 65 hp I would bet. Meanwhile, Fixitrod is running a stock swingarm with taller paddles on a taller tire with more paddles than me, and didn't seem to have much problem whoppin ass at Comp. Same with JKJK, he seemed to run just fine, and I think he had a -2. If you ride a lot of trails and open roads, try it stock. If you are okay with how it handles, maybe consider going -2, but it will change how your bike handles. -2's turn easier, but the front end can loft easier. + lengths take more to turn around, and you do lose some traction due to there is less weight over the rear wheels. The front end won't come up as easy, which is kind of nice when you're moving fast and need to steer. -
Looking For A Couple Of Post Ons Here...
Cotton eyed Joe replied to Otis's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Are you talking about swapping the orange and black wires going into the coil? The foam thing is easy as well. Just put some flexible foam type material on each side of your radiator so the air is forced to go through your radiator, and can't go around it. -
Thinking Of Starting Up Another Buisness!
Cotton eyed Joe replied to got1banshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Hey if anyone else is up for stealing an idea, I stole one a couple months ago. There is a shop up the street from me that painted their walk in door gloss black, then flamed it. Looks pretty cool. -
LMFAO CHRIS! I just spit chips and salsa all over my monitor. Not to be mean, but that would be funny as shit to see some cat all bound up with 5000 zip ties, just sitting there helpless next to a shredded left Timberland shoe..............meow? My parents had a dog that would nip at them when they tried to cut her toe nails, so out came the tape. Masking tape though. She was terrified of it, but we had to do it.

Zip ties are this years duct tape. I carry 2-3 different sizes and colors in my tool box now. Duct tape is getting so yesterday.

The bushings on the Banshee a arms are also plastic. If they used aluminum-bronze (what a lot of bushings are made of) the bushing has the potential to eat through that a-arm bolt in a hurry if the grease gets washed out some how. As far as the linkage, I would replace it just because. It never hurts to have things running in top notch order. You could do this with the other bushings that may not seem bad enough to change...Stick them in a sealable plastic bag, and hang onto them, incase the need arises that later on down the line you need a part to get you by for a while. If you just replace one now, then 6 months later when another one is bad you have to do it again, then 3 months after that, and another 7 months later etc..... Just do them all at once if you want. On roller bearings....I don't use them, but I may end up using and selling them if I can find a good source. Im a fan of bearings over bushings, but you have to keep them greased. This not only keeps them lubed and moving freely, but also pushes out any water or contaminants that might get in them. With a bearing you have to keep up on it. A bushing will be a little more forgiving since there are no moving parts.

The Snow MX is at the Delta Center tomorrow night. SATURDAY SATURDAY SATURDAY!!!!!!! BEEEEEEEEE THERRRRRRRRRRRRRE!!!! I can't BEEEEEEEE THEERRRRRREEEEEEEE, but the commercials look fuckin cool. And yes, back flips on snowmobiles. They look like those smaller Indy's or something, but still......

If work was slow, and I had the money I'd be there.

Were you with Matts group from Indiana? I think my first ride out was with them in the "slow" group. lol. Howard still took us on one hell of a ride.

Did Everyone Make It Home Allright
Cotton eyed Joe replied to evil's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I paid about $40 for 400 miles (my first stop in St. George from Layton) @$2.05 per gallon up from $1.87 I brought 10 gallons in clean jugs at Utah prices. I figured if I needed it for the banshee I could dump it into my race jug and mix it. If not I could put it in the truck. I got gas again in St. George on my way back. Beat the hell out of those prices in Baker. -
yeah stan lets do a product review on those killer billitt heel gaurds your making, im currently waiting for my prototype set to arrive via UPS, stay tuned for updates..... LOL I NEED TO KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT FIRST!!! HAHA Send me a URL that has pics of some.... I thought that pic I sent was what you were looking for though.

LMFAO!! What do you guys use for your animations? I've used PS7, and my animation turned out okay, but its just 10 frames that repeat. I want to do some fucked up stick figure stuff. QuadMX had some funny ASCII animations. I think I deleted them for space though.
-
If you don't mind, what did you pay? Right now my rear braided lines are $38.00 up to about +8. After that I like to quote each one. I get charged differently at my supplier for different lengths I buy. I'm about ready to either stick a gun in their ribs and take my money back, or buy 100 feet of it so I can get a better deal.

EXACTLY!! Also someone on our Roostfest trip had some problems with his carb boots to his airbox being too slippery, and the box could wiggle a little. That means that the box would wiggle off of the boots. Several hose clamps and some zip ties later, problem solved. The whole thing needs to be tight to ensure no sand gets sucked it.

You must have seen that article about Will Farrell and his new baby boy Magnus... What a name!!! I know what you mean about the naming after your father stuff. On another note, my brother was named after my father, brother wrote lots of bad checks and got into a lot of credit problems and the authorities came looking for my dad! Took almost a year to straighten that crap out! What a pain in the arse! Actually I forgot about that. lol. The Magnus I was thinking of is the Magnus Ver Magnusson and Magnus Samuelsson that compete in the Worlds Stongest Man competitions. Nothing like seeing someone trap shrug the back end of a car 25 times to get you motivated. Also, seeing someone that wears a size XXXXXL shirt is terrifying. The announcer put it on, and he slipped through the neck hole of the shirt. He could put both legs in one side of the guys lifting shorts.

THANKS!!!! I really appreciate that Matt!!! I was hoping someone noticed my bike. Everything billet on it I build, and everything that was polished I did as well. My list of parts is starting to grow. I can't wait for the challenge of the stator covers. The billet carriers were tough, but those stator covers and a arms are going to be my holy grail. NYUK, I had a few people tell me I was nuts for putting them on my banshee for the dunes. I had 0 problems with them. The only thing I noticed, is they aren't squishy, so of course they aren't as comfortable, but you can't have it all.

I missed out on the tray surfing too?? Next time I'm not drinking so I stop missing out on all the other shit that happens.
-
HAHA!!!! What about Ivan or Magnus? Check out some of those Norse names man. Sparkplug? I dunno about naming a kid after the dad. I'm a Jr., and it sucks when I answer the phone, the guy says, "Is Stan there?" I say "yeah, but which one do you want to talk to?" Most people don't get it. Then I usually say "Me or my dad?" then they know who is who.
-
I think I'm gonna cry. Thanks guys!!!! Hope to be getting the grab bars done, and then its off to the water pump covers!! I'll throw something up in the images when I've got them perfected. I'm glad you guys like your parts. ~Stan~

Polishing A Clutch Cover To Mirror Finish
Cotton eyed Joe replied to die_infidel's topic in General Banshee Discussion
When I did mine, I used my 8" buffing wheels and white rouge and tripoli. It was not easy to get into all the nooks and/or crannies. Plus just sanding it down to a 400 grit was a PITA. Its worth it, and its not hard per se, its just time consuming to get it right. Mine isn't quite what I wanted, but I don't feel like draining my tranny and going through all that right now to do it again. -
Whatever dude. You want some cheese with that whine?? I had a blast; I'll be at the next one; and you damn sure won't hear any crying-ass bitching from me... LOL He hasn't posted again either. Oh and Ben, thanks for the help on the jetting btw!!! Those carb tops are a bitch to get off.

After swapping the 410 mains back to my usual 320s I started her up to make sure it ran. As it was idling I noticed that the left pipe seal between the pipe and stinger leaks.....alot. There was almost as much smoke coming from in between the frame as there was out the silencer. Where do I get new clamps, and what do you guys recommend? These are my stock set. -OR- where do I get high temp o-rings, and I'll build my own. Thanks. Stan
