  1. I have the same problem on my stock set up carbs. I took apart the carbs and inspected, adjusted floats and still leak bad out of both carb overflow hoses since the day i bought the shee new from dealer. Is there something other than dirty carb causing this. I have to shut fuel off we not riding or i'll find one hell of a puddle under quad with in a few days. I'm thinking gas tank bigger than earlier shees and gas flow too strong?? I have no clue?? been one of my longest unsolved mysterys lol PLEASE SOMEONE SOLVE IT FOR US haha.
  2. I know alot of people ask this same question, but i can't find one with the same mods so i ask this anyway. I was wondering what you guys could guess for hp of my shee looking at the mods in my signature. I'm in the process of doing all these mods to the stock shee along with trued & welded crank and Barnett dirt digger clutch kit. Any suggestions or ideas of what i can do would be helpful or what you think of this setup. Would a 4mm stroker crank work even better or is the power gain unoticeable with my setup. Thanks
  3. 400ex are easy to beat, but they are a good reliable quad and i give that to him.
  4. yes air factors like temperature and alt. will affect speed the colder the faster. Some would only get about 70mph or so on a 90-100+ degree temp where as 72-73 in a colder temp. I had my shee up to 72mph on about a 75 degree day thats about all I could get stock.
  5. thanks for the help guys i looked into those cobra sparkys and thats what i want. As for the looks i have no choice just as long as i can get into parks with em. I plan on a port job with the cpi's.
  6. lol real funny guys, I must say I never heard of such a thing. Something isn't right and if it is right, then I wish all the stealerships were like that. I'm sure there's some good stealerships out there, but 5 outta 5 I've been too, I tend to know more about what they sell and I out smart them on mods weird huh. So in my case the dealership is the last place on earth I'd go to for help. Of course Banshee hq is #1 for help for me lol.
  7. lol weird huh? I have no clue what kinda setup or how they came to that conclusion, but thats what they post on their site.
  8. yeah i seen that chart and it makes cpi look like the worst pipe to get and paul turners the best next to tr6's. here the cpi compared to tr6's: http://www.toomey.com/image/CPI_lg.jpg here's the paul turner one: http://www.toomey.com/image/PaulTurner_lg.jpg Here's the sst's http://www.toomey.com/image/FMF_lg.jpg Here's pro circuts http://www.toomey.com/image/ProCircuit_lg.jpg
  9. Yours is that '02 cool atleast i know what they will look like on my '02. I noticed you must of painted your grill silver or is that and aftermarket grill??. I did the same thing with a chrome type paint and looks a hell lot better than the plain black. My paint job seems to be peeling though. If i could only find a steel chrome grill that looks like that stock i'd get it cause i don't like the style of them other chrome grills.
  10. thanks I'm trying to figure out a little project before I get the cpi's.
  11. I was gonna try to do my own, but it sounds like a job huh?? I guess i might need someone to do mine too. lol
  12. I needed to know before i buy CPI pipes whats the exact outer diameter (in inches)of the silencer near the rear of it. Is it like 2 1/2 inches or what?? Or is the silencer oblonged and not a perfect circle? whatever the case is let me know. Thanks
  13. Yes definately for silver lake. I've seen them check all atvs many times as for sound level they don't enforce unless they suspect your quad is too loud then they hook up the meter and test. LOL gotta love those damn dumb DNR for that one. I'm still trying to get answers myself for cpi pipes, but i guess nobody else needs spark arrestors or has ways to sneak in silver lake. I only go to silver lake once or twice a year too and don't need arrestors for the trails any where's else.
  14. I want cpi's with my port job and the mods i have, but the only thing stopping me from buying them is no mention of spark arrestors. I'm hoping someone could help me solve this. Do they make some type of spark kit i could use?? If not then i'm afraid tr6's with toomey hush is my only other option.
  15. I can't imagine a twin 500 in a banshee. The 350 alone is a rush, but a 500 would kill the unexperienced. Unless the 500 is a dog? It would be a dream come true to see a 500 twin 2 stroke banshee. I just hope they don't put a 4 stroke in the mighty shee. I do know that trinity has a 500cc big bore kit for the shee.
  16. I only wish the media could see that, but their busy looking for the increases of atv accidents.
  17. Must be a new trick what the heck you mean cut the swinging arm back??? Make it shorter?? how the hell ya keep the front end down I was gonna go longer. Maybe I'm thinking the wrong idea or misunderstood ya.
  18. I can't believe nobody has spark arrestors for after market pipes. For how strict the laws are and I know alot of you go to silver lake just how in the hell do you make it in there with no spark arrestors??? There has to be something guys or some kinda trick to fool the damn DNR into having spark arrestors in my silencers. I got a trip planned as soon as snow goes and need to find a pipe set up to fit those damn dum laws.
  19. I've heard the same crap when i got my shee, the sad thing for me though i always gotta stop and wait for the other riders lol. You'll be happy with it slow or fast. They just fear a banshee on trail and try to talk ya out of getting one. Trust me get it and you'll be happy. Thats all i do with mine is trail ride.
  20. way to go guys keep it up. Let our voices be heard and all those who wanna get rid of atving be feared by our voices. hehehehe hahahaha Bring it on you anti atvers!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. I sent a letter to abc on ozzy's crash. I suggest the rest of you members jump in and voice your opinion on atving. Here's the link: http://www.abcnews.go.com/sections/primeti...email_form.html Ok here's what i sent to abc: "I've been a ATV enthusiast for 12 years now rode just about every quad out there and the fastest speed ever reached on a stock atv is 75mph. It is impossible to make a Yamaha Banshee go 150mph when it's top speed is about 73 mph. Also A Yamaha banshee weight with full oil and fuel doesn't even come close to 600lbs. The manual and yamaha's web site shows it around 412lbs with fluids. I was Happy to see though that because of Ozzy's accident on a atv didn't lead to bashing the sport that millions of americans love. One accident here and there due to one's own fualt doesn't over come the mass majority of fun and freedom we have. It takes common sense and practice to ride an atv. Just watch how you present atving or sledding cause if the right people hear what you say based on the minority, we'll have one less sport on the list and so much for "freedom" that we so claim. "
  22. In todays weakend society or should i say pussified country people can't think for themself without others sueing or something and disscourging them of using common sense. Only a brainless idiot would think "Oh It's ok to ride a atv without getting hurt and that tree branch won't affect my riding". Or "I'm gonna get some air and back flip cause this atv will always land on all 4 tires." LOL come on don't blame the damn atv for ones dumn commmon senseless actions. This country is getting worse everyday almost too sickening to deal with it. why doesn't someone put an end to it before we self destruct!!!
  23. Thats why when ever someone wants to race me i make sure we do it on pavement or no race cause i don't wanna hear someone wine they lost due to traction. I try to eliminate excusses and make the race fair as fair. Like sledding i make sure it's on hard packed and all racers are well studded.
  24. How can a reed drop a ring?? If you just put the piston in is it possible improperly installed rings or setup did it? Well anyway I found them to be the best with noticeable results. I have them in my snowmobiles and the shee. They maybe a little pricey i'll admitt, but in the end i think it's worth it. I just checked the set i've had in for 3 years in my sled and still look brand new no wear of any kind yet.
  25. thats not a triple is it?? i've only seen the cat's twins go in them because of the clutching setup. Can't believe he got a triple to fit.
