He's happy with the Fatty performance, they are just covered in rust, so getting the chrome Gold Series seemed like a good alternative to spending $350. I read in some of my searches that they may have been the same, but I didn't know if anyone had 1st hand experience if there was any difference. Also, I am kind of assuming that the pipes are Fatty's, they have so much surface rust that I can't read the side of the pipe. I do know that they have PowerCore2 silencers on them. Any opinions on differences between Power Core and Turbine Core2's?

I know this question has been asked a million times, but I have a chance to upgrade my sons bike to some chrome Gold Series pipes, his current Fattys are pretty rusty. I'm trying to determine if I should just strip and paint the Fattys and keep running them, or move to the Gold Series pipes. We ride sand 90% of the time, so that is what we want them for. The silencers with the gold series are Turbine Core 2's, and the ones on the Fattys are Power Core 2. I could run one silencer with the other, etc., but wanted to see what you guys thought. I'd love to get him a set of Toomeys, but hes on a small budget. Thanks, Dean

I'm looking for a set of front spindles (to use with late model brakes). Do you have any? If so, let me know how much.
-
Anyone?
-
I was converting to the late model brakes this weekend, and tried to mount the stock tie rods into the spindle, only to notice that the ball ends were too small and totally wobbled around in the spindle. I spoke with the guy I got the spindles from, and he said that they had some aftermarket beafy setup and apparently they hogged out the holes in the spindle. Here is a pic of what the ends look like: To me these look totally homemade, and I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas what else I should use, or if these are what people use when they beef up their tie rods. Thanks for any help or suggestions you can offer...

On my Banshee with Toomey's I run 310's, so I figured that his mains should go up from 280 at least a bit, but you don't think so? I was told that the FMF's don't need/use as much fuel as the Toomeys, so like a 290 or 300 would work well, with a 27.5 pilot. How many slots is the clip normally at?

Working on my sons Banshee, 2001 freshly rebuilt last winter, .020 over, FMF (fattys I think), with Powercore silencers, K&N pods with no airbox. I got the ATV like this, so I had no idea how the jetting was, etc. (I assumed it was jetted correctly since the guy was close to sea level like me). Anyway, when we took it out, it really fluttered right off of idle. You really had to rev it and drop the clutch to get going. Once going, it was fine. Hardly any smoke coming out of the pipes once it was warm. I checked plugs and they looked fine, but I was still concerned that it might be running a tad lean. So, last night I pulled the carbs to clean them out and see what jetting was in there, and I found that it had 280 mains and 25 pilots (stock, right?). Shouldn't it be running more in the area of 310 mains and 27.5 pilots with the pipes and air filters? No head work (as far as I know). I am going to check the needle height tonight, can anyone tell me where the stock clip location should be? Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

I just got totally taken with a frame on Ebay. Hopefully I'll get my money back. Either way, I need an A-arm frame in good shape. I don't care the year, but it needs clear numbers and to be in good shape.

Stator Pickup broke off of the adjustment bracket
vdubn replied to vdubn's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Beautiful!!! Thanks guys. -
Out here we call those razorbacks, where the wind has sucked the back side out of a section of the sand, it looks straight and flat, but drops like 5 feet... can be pretty freaky when you're haulin'!
-
Sweet, I just ordered the Durablue 2+2 for the wifes Raptor. We ride 99% in the sand, what are the main problems with them?
-
Last week while riding the dunes in Oregon, my sons Banshee just died, and ultimately we found that there was no spark at all. After pulling the side cover, it became immediately obvious what the problem was. The flywheel came in contact with the stator pickup and broke it off. In looking at the pickup bracket that the pickup mounts to, it appears that someone had tried to adjust their gap by bending the bracket, and it eventually just fatigued until it broke. Either way, the pickup was destroyed, and on an emergency, I spent $360 for a factory piece of junk one just to get riding. The bike works great, but the other stator is a monster. It is easily double any of the high output stators I have seen (it was double the 250watt one they had at the shop). So, I would have bought the other aftermarket stator at the shop, for less money, except that it didn't come with the pickup (mine was destroyed). Can I get a pickup by itself, or take one off of another stator so that I can continue to use the main part of this high output stator? Thanks for any help...

Sorry if its a noobie question, but what is a "witches eye"?
-
Yea, I figured that to be the case, but I didn't know for sure. It makes a lot more sense to do it that way. Thanks for all of the help guys!

Cool, I initially thought so, but started wondering if it was something odd. Since he was running all stock sprockets, brake stuff, etc., I imagine it uses a stock Raptor axle. Thanks!
-
So, you think it is safe to assume that if I get a Durablue Raptor axle, it should fit the round carrier... in other words, any of the places manufactuing the extended swing arms make the carriers to work with the factory parts? Thanks!
-
One additional note.... the swingarm came with an adapter mount for the Raptor caliper, since the round housing didn't have the mouns. And, he didn't say anything about having to convert to honda rear brake rotors, etc. (it used stock hubs too). So, my guess is that the carrier was made to be used with the stock Raptor axle. Any opinions welsome... thanks.

In this situation, the bike is a Raptor, but I figured that a lot of the Guru's here have run into the same issue one time or another on Shee's with extended swingarms. I don't know what brand of swingarm this is, I just know it has a Honda-style carrier. I just bought a used +2 Raptor swingarm, it uses a round honda-style carrier for chain adjustment. So, when people get the extended swing arms with the honda-style carriers, do they typically still use the std. axle for the bike, or does that require you to switch axles over to a Honda axle? If they typically require a change to a honda axle, which bike is it typically (250R)? I am trying to buy one of the Durablue 2+2 axles, and need to know how to tell which axle I need to buy (for a honda, or for the Raptor). Thanks for any help, Dean

You know what is wierd, I have banjo bolts on my Banshee's calipers. Check out the pic I attached of one of my calipers. I need replacement calipers bad, anyone know where I can get some quick (and what year calipers I should get? Thanks again for the help.

I have an 89 Banshee, and I need new calipers, mine are shot. Can I put late model calipers and hoses, etc. onto my bike, or do I need to swap out the knuckles too? Thanks, Dean
