  1. Welcome to BansheeHQ! I'm guessing you should be at 27.5 pilot and 280-300 mains for that setup. You may want to start rich and work down. I'd leave the needle clip in the middle and air screw will be .5-2.5 turns out.
  2. Hahahahahahaha. Like I said, "this axle is great but if it breaks don't call us!"
  3. You're lucky I'm posting. Otherwise this thread would be on page 10 from no interest.
  4. Excellent posts. Just so we're clear... Big filters FTW. Outerwears are unnecessary.
  5. I thought so too. I was hoping he would go all windy on my post. He never lets me down.
  6. It's a 2006. It's had ONE rebuild EVER. It's an 8 year old motor. Have you seen the riding I've put that thing through? Fuck an outerwear.
  7. Wait, your builder is bald and missing teeth? I don't call him for stupid shit like this. I've got my setup down to a science. It's proven on the dyno and proven in real world testing. The problem here is that people like windy, who have basically ZERO credentials try to discredit those (me) who have LOTS of experience.
  8. I wouldn't recommend outerwears to anyone. My YFZ has had an open air filter since about the third week I owned it. I bought it brand new in February 2006. Since then, I put a piston in it in March 2009 and had the valves checked. That's it. I have tons of videos of me running that bike in dusty ass trails, fields and hillclimbs.. NO NEED for an outerwear if the air filter is good. Could be. I'm just running what MY BUILDER recommends I run on the motor HE BUILT.
  9. I wasn't aware you could only ride for ten minutes with brand new outerwears before they needed to be cleaned. It doesn't matter anyway. I don't play ride my Banshee anymore. That's what the beater YFZ is for. And it doesn't have an outerwear.
  10. Yea, but someone's pops said that they were pointless.
  11. We use them in the sand and that's it. I clearly remember waaay back when we had 4mm motors.. We were out riding in a dusty ass field one day. My brother's bike wouldn't run for shit. We fucked with that thing forever. After dicking with everything from top to bottom, we pulled the outerwears off. They were dusty as shit. Bike fired right up and ran perfect. They can and will plug up. You guys can run them. Just like you can run small filters. It doesn't matter to me.
  12. Outerwears definitely restrict air flow. They should not be used in dusty conditions at all. They will plug up.
  13. I'm guessing that my builder knows more about these motor setups than anyone's pops. Just saying.
  14. Sell me dat 2006 fenders plz.
  15. No, he's a scum bag thief. As a small business owner how can you sit there and support someone who does not pay his bills? Fuck Rob and anyone else who think it's OK to not pay bills and fuck people out of money.
  16. $2600 plus lifetime sponsorship?
  17. I've been told by a reputable builder who pays his bills to run the long ones. Fuck Rob at RDZ.
  18. I'm thinking you can't get Lakers anymore.
  19. Yes. I think most people would find his answer inappropriate so I kept it to myself.
  20. Air filters and spark plugs are not on my approved topics to give a shit about, but here's my in depth response. I run long filters because my bike seems to run good with them, plus I think they look cool. I run B8ES spark plugs gapped at box spec because my bike runs good with them that way. I also don't own a spark plug gapper so it would be impossible for me to gap them. And yes, I'm in the 99%. I don't build motors or test them on either of my two imaginary dynoes. Therefore I set up my motors per my motor builder's suggestions based on his many years of building and testing. And since my stuff runs good and because I win races and am not constantly working on said stuff, people should listen to me. I hope this response will suffice and help move the topic forward as well as educate.
  21. Because my builder told me to run them as they are out of the box. I figure he knows more than 99% of the people on this 3rd rate website.
  22. Fuck, I must only be a green belt. I've never gapped any plugs, but I have plugged some gaps.
  23. Something tells me he's quite handy with a vacuum.
  24. Have you seen their website? They sure don't look like they're going to be handling anything.
