LED lights not fully working
06 banshee 2023 replied to 06 banshee 2023's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I got the idea for the lights from michael sabo, he didnt use a dc conversion, is there any way i can do it without dc conversion? -
Hey guys, i have LED lights on my banshee. The lights are circular lights with a ring light round the outside then big LEDs in the middle. The outer ring light works, but the big light only shines very dimmly at idle, then when revving the bike even a little bit they turn off. I tested the light with a 12v raptor 700 battery and the lights shine very well. Hope i can find the problem soon.

Banshee not starting properly

turns out the slides werent fully down as i had recently cut the springs, fixed now. -
Hey guys, I have recently rebuild a banshee engine because of a tranny issue, one of the gears were chipped. Although the tranny was bad, the bike would start up 2nd kick, cold, no choke. now I’ve rebuilt it, but it will only start with choke on after like 50 kicks, and it would rev very high I did a compression test and I’m waiting on the leak down test, compression is 120 and 125 psi, stock motor. spark is great as well, keep in mind that my vent hose is cut at the case and I just have the vent plug, which isn’t fully seated in the case. could it be and air leak or a timing issue with the static and flywheel

Hey guys, I built this banshee engine and I was having problems like the ones mention on the thread that I’ve linked below. Now I’ve ridden the bike and when I go into second under a lot of load, I get a false neutral, same with 6th. I replaced the 3rd gear wheel, my 6th pinion gear had a broken tooth but the dogs looked alright, maybe a bit worn when I was riding, at the start, second gear was fine, however my shifter came loose so I thought I was shifting into neutral instead of second, when I changed my shifter I was getting false neutrals in 2nd ive changed the eccentric screw and the shift shaft spring

Banshee shifting problems
06 banshee 2023 replied to 06 banshee 2023's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
If I remember correctly when bench shifting, it shifted well without the gears, just the forks and the drum. But when out of gears it would sometimes get stuck between gears -

And if it is splitting cases, it would most likely be the shift forks right -

what are the chances of it being something on the clutch side -
Banshee shifting problems
06 banshee 2023 replied to 06 banshee 2023's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I don’t want to take down the motor if I don’t have to as the season is here and the weathers perfect to drive for the next few months, I don’t mind not having 6th gear but I need 2nd, would I need to split cases to fix the 2nd gear issue? It only sometimes doesn’t fo into gear whereas 6th never works -
Banshee shifting problems

When I tore down the motor they looked fine, no cracks or anything, I think the 6th gear pinion has a broken tooth but all the dogs were fine -
Banshee shifting problems
06 banshee 2023 replied to 06 banshee 2023's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
No, just replaced the eccentric and shift shaft spring, the problem is only second gear pops out when I shift to it at high rpm, and 6th gear never works -
Hey guys, I have an ‘02 banshee that I’ve rebuilt and there are some tranny problems, when I would shift into 2nd gear it would sometimes pop out into neutral, when I shift to 6th gear it will always pop out into neutral. I’ve changed the eccentric screw, clutch basket and the shift shaft spring. When I bench tested the shifting it would sometimes get stuck out of gear, the thing that’s supposed to sit in the dips of the shift star would get stuck on the peaks but I was told it was fine because the engine had to be under load, even though I was spinning the shaft. Also, if I ride like this and just skip second and 6th would it damage the gears?

Banshee shifting issues
06 banshee 2023 replied to 06 banshee 2023's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I should also add, sometimes when I shift into second, it’s like shifting into neutral. Same thing happens sometimes in 5th and 6th gear -
Hey guys, I’ve recently reassembled my banshee motor and I’ve been having some problems with the shifting. Before the rebuild. On the first ride after the rebuild the gears were shifting fine, then in the dunes my shifter came lose and after that the shifting has been messed up. I have put a new shifter on but for some reason, the bike doesn’t always catch some of the gears, mostly 2nd gear. I have a feeling that it’s the eccentric screw and I’ve ordered an OEM one but it will take a month to come. Do I have to pull off the clutch basket to check the adjustment of the eccentric screw ? Also any no other ideas what this problem may be?

My vin is not normal
06 banshee 2023 replied to 06 banshee 2023's topic in General Banshee Discussion
mine is 3GG-230*** on the left side of the frame, it isnt even engraved into the frame its like painted on or something. im in uae and all of the banshees have VINs like this so i dont think its fake but i cant find then decoder -
For some reason my bike vin which is in the frame isn’t the normal size it’s only like 9 digits, starts with the 3gg like the engine number. Does anyone know how I can put it in a vin decoder

I am rebuilding my motor and i have some small imperfections, for example I didnt use the locating pin for the shift drum, i don't have the bearing stopper plate that goes to the shaft behind the clutch, when i shift gears, the gap between the pins and the shift shaft changes whenever i switch gear. in first gear the gaps are equal but when i switch gear it usually gets more uneven. Also, does it really matter which way the washers and cerclips go on the mainshaft and countershaft? if they face inwards or outwards? This is my first engine build btw.

I have opened up the bottom end and put my shift shaft, drum, star and gears back in. The adjustment on the eccentric screw seems good, note that when I change gears, the adjustment gets a bit worse in some gears. What happens is when I spin the shafts and shift gears, every now and then, the gears get stuck. This means that I can’t spin the shafts anymore, but when I remove and put the shafts back in, it works. It looks like the dogs aren’t going into the gaps fully. I have rebuild these gears, replaced the 3rd gear and the 6th gear pinion IMG_0310.MOV
