Porting re-sleeved cylinders
06 banshee 2023 replied to 06 banshee 2023's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Planning to do it myself, hopefully will give me a good power boost, also gonna take a look at the transfers and the exhaust and potentially port them too. -

Porting re-sleeved cylinders

The cylinders were like this when I bought it -
hey guys, I have attached a link to a photo of the porting of my cylinders. They look like they've been re-sleeved and the sleeve wasn't port matched. Would it be ok to port match the sleeves or should I get new cylinders. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yqGkL1vsI5uSl70gn_QS5i6qqRmf9tXn/view?usp=sharing

Would my bike run fine with +4 timing and a stock engine? I want to find someone good at shaving the head near me, I think it would take some time. So I want to get the timing plate on before that.

The United Arab Emirates in the Middle East, I only do dune riding.

You know what types of shops I need to look for to shave the head? What do I need to tell them to do. also, I feel some smoke coming out of where the cylinder joins the pipe, I think it’s because there’s no spring hook so one of the springs r missing. Does this effect performance?

hey guys, I've been having issues with my lights for a while now. When I do the voltage tests on the front lights, I get very low readings like 3v or less. So then I tested the lighting coil. On the lighting coil, I'm getting a bad reading too, around 1 ohm of resistance (spec is around 0.3). Does this mean I have to buy a new stator? what are my best options here to save money.

LED lights not fully working

I got the rectifier. there are 2 red wires input and 1 red 1 black output. where do the input wires go if the output go to lights -
I have a 2001 banshee that I restored last year, the only modification to the engine is that it has a bore which was there when I bought it, don’t know how good it is. Other than that, I have t5s, pod filters, some taiwanese 28mm pwk carbs from a company called maikuni (not mikuni). What would be the cheapest hp gain mods to do next? I was thinking a cool head.

How to wire in trailtech rectifier
06 banshee 2023 replied to 06 banshee 2023's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Im fine with it flickering at idle, for me I have a different problem. My lights have two parts a high beam and a low beam, low beam works fine. When i turn on high beam, as i slowly rev the engine up the brightness increases, but when it reaches above a certain rpms, the high beam turns on. I think its around 3000-5000 RPM -

Hi everyone. I have LED lights on my banshee but they don't work to full brightness on the banshee, only when i connect them a battery they work fully. I want to get them working but I don't want to do a full DC conversion. Is it possible to only use the trailtech recitifier to get direct current to the lights? rectifier.webp

i had the same thing, asked my dealership to check it and its a proper vin of a 2001 banshee, I think in certain countries banshees have different vin types or something

banshee spark plugs wont come out
06 banshee 2023 replied to 06 banshee 2023's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I’m in the Middle East, temp is around 75F atm. I run 28mm pwks with a 155 main and 48 pilot, needle on the middle clip. I fouled a plug, all the time my plugs look black, and I get oil around my pipe so I feel like I’m rich. I run yamalube 40:1. Cos I was rich, I raised the needle clip and it got much worse, very piggy, so I put it back in the middle and it got better, so I think the needle(N68J) is fine. i decided to drop the pilot jet down because the sweet spot was 5.5 turns out on the air screw, but no matter how much I adjusted the air screw on the 45 and 42 pilots, it would run horrible, like it would turn on for 5 seconds and in those 5 seconds there would be loud backfires from the exhaust and no consistency. When I put the 48s back it would run alright for a bit but then it looses all power and bogs, when I turn the fuel off it runs well when I rev high but doesn’t last long, I am so confused -

thanks so much jerz, finally got these plugs out. Look at how rich these things are. I am planning on dropping down the needle clip and the jet size on my 28mm PWKs. whats the best what to get myself roughly perfect on the jet and needle before doing a plug chop? I plan to do a mid range and top range plug chop soon, but i'd like to get pretty close before so i dont have to repeat it. thanks again -

thanks for the quick reply, i'll make surre to try this when i get the time. -
hey, so on my banshee i put in new spark plugs and i think ive overtightened them. I fouled the plugs so i want to change them. i tried to remove them with a 21mm socket but they're way to tight so i ended up smoothening the edges of the spark plug bolt. any ideas to get it out?

Does it replace the normal voltage regulator and wire in with the same wires as the voltage regulator? Do the lights wire into the same place? -

So we don’t use the stock light wires? How does the light switch work then? sorry if it’s a stupid question I don’t want to mess up the electrics doing something dumb -

Do you have a tutorial thread for this? I’m not too experienced with electrics, also would I need to run a battery
