  1. Had a buddy who's bike behaved similarly after reading the bike down to nothing we found a section of wiring where the harness would sag slightly once hot enough and ground out
  2. Appreciate the responses guys, i'm certain you guys are sick of hearing "whats the best combo etc..." just trying to get a feel if the 10mm is worth, most likely will be dropping the bike off at redline with cam.
  3. I just let the overflow straw puke on the pipes, steam and smell let me know i'm running her too hot.
  4. Dune riding only, machine hasn't touched dirt trails in 20 years. I do like to hit the race hill a fair amount but the machine has to be duneable. I am aware that i'm probably going to have to blow a good chunk of change on this build but it's a sentimental rig so its worth it to me.
  5. One rides a cub on pump gas but he's probably 80lbs lighter than me, the other is my weight but on a race gas cub. Last i checked the pump gas bike was around 90hp and the race gas bike was 110?
  6. Pretty much all stock, stock mikunis, vforce 4's, ported and polished, cylinders are oversized cant remember by how much, head's shaved still on pump, running sb cpi's. I did go to a billet clutch basket but that was a number of years ago now. Basically going to need: carbs, crank, pistons, cylinders, head, probably trans work and potentially pipe. I'm basically looking for peoples opinion on whether or not the 472 will be good forever and I wont want to tear into it again in 5 years or should I just go to the 10mm and let my wallet suffer.
  7. In general you want to fill a rad to the top unless you have an overflow. 50/50 coolant water mix.
  8. Hey all, looking for recommendations as my banshee ate a chunk of intake this last summer. Looking to go bigger but i also want to be faster than my friends who are both sporting 421's, what i'm looking for is your guys opinion should I: build a 421 on race gas, a pump gas 472 or trench my case and go big 10mm or so. Cheers
  9. Thanks for the replies guys. Yeh opti is mixed at a weird lean rate can't remember off the top of my head. But I run the additive as well grape is by far the most potent IMO. the other reason I run opti is it has fuel stabilizer in it and my bike sits for 50/52 weeks of the year
  10. Hey guys and gals, just wondering what your preferences are in regards to pre-mix. Personally we used torco or benol for years but after seeing my friends who had been together since purchasing and never blew up we had to switch. Now we run OPTI-2, it's "smokeless" but more importantly its economical 1 gallon makes apparently 110 gallons. Long story short engines exploded on torco, benol smelled the nicest but plugged easily, opti so far has been great just don't grab the injector fluid as the labelling is shotty at best and you'll end up starving your engine of lubricants. Sorry if this has already been posted but the latest post i saw was like 6 months old and didn't want to bump an old thread
