  1. If only i had a gas station that sells it near me Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  2. On this fuel subject, I'm really getting screwed. One gas station around me sells cam 2, which is 110 octane leaded fuel, and its 9.99 a gallon, or vp which is from 60-80 for a 5 gallon. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

  4. Here's mine 65 dodge coronet, with a Burkins built 440 street strip car...and my new project 1972 dart swinger getting a big block transplant Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  5. Have a set of older force reeds and cages. Will need new reeds at least for one cage. $50 plus shipping and they are yours
  6. OK guys well I got that problem solved, my buddy gave me a set of reeds out if some rz cylinders and now it idles perfect on both sides and rips......but the new problem is when I put it in first and start to go it wants to bog, gas it up and its fine....only does it in first gear? 7. The cc of the dome relates to its volume, the larger the cc or "cubic centimeters" the more volume the dome or "chamber" has. A smaller chamber will increase the compression ratio, and the higher the compression ratio means you need a higher octane fuel as described in trickedcarbine post. To check your compression get a decent compression tester and check your cylinders, I believe 93 octane fuel is fine up to about 140psi. Anything over that I would run some vp100 unleaded just to be safe. And don't think 93 octane with some octane boster is sufficient. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

  9. alright guys, did a leakdown and that was perfect, compression 124 in left cylinder and 123 in right cylinder, rebuilt both carbs, the kit came with 290 mains and the pilots said 30 so i used them. when i put it back together i accidently swiched the reed cages. started it up and now its the left cylinder that runs funny, you think that its time for new reeds?
  10. ok guys so i got it figured out now i just dont know what the fix is lol. got the bike started and warmed up and the right cylinder doesnt run as well as the left, but if you pull the choke on both cylinders are identical and run like a top! the hose that hooks the choke to the left carb is on and tight... would that mean there has to be an air leak at the reed/intake on the left carb?
  11. ill do a search on leakdown. i messed with the carbs for a while and got it much better, i noticed that the needle valves have a ring imprinted into them so i ordered carb rebuild kit with everything.....but its not mis firing now just seems like its not quite blowing as hard as the other side at idle, but once you give it a rev they are both even.....going to do a comp. test tomorrow and if that turns out good i guess ill re seal the reeds and intake. on another note what about jetting? the bike is fresh std bore with v force reeds, dg pipes stock air box and uni filter. does a 290 main jet and stock piolet sound about right? thats what is coming with the rebuild kit
  12. no sir i didnt,....i didnt notice a crack in the intake boot or anything, where else could i have an air leak?
  13. yea, new plugs, ngk br8es... the right cylinder (mis firing cylinder) looks to be a little dry or lean, i pulled the bowl on that carb and took it apart cleaned it all and re assembled. still does the same thing.
  14. wouldnt that be the wires coming from stator and the two wires to the coil? i checked spark and the mis firing cylinder is getting spark. it also has a new oem coil
  15. well i got my bike started up after a a top end build..... left cylinder runs great but right cylinder acts like its mis firing then under a small rev it cuts out. left side: put put put, right side put....put....put. is the best i can explain it. yes it has tors that is unplugged and the carbs are syncd....any suggestions?
  16. well thats what i did, i backed the idle screws all the way out, set the cable adjustments evenly then turned idle screws in until the slides barely lifted, then set the ball in the sight windows with the cables, and the slides were still in sync, you guys think that will be ok for initial start up?
  17. well all my parts came today so i got the motor and all back together. it still has the original tors setup, but i got the carbs synced and now im just wondering where a good starting point for the idle screws ontop of the tors boxes is to get the bike started. all the way in and how many turns out? Thanks!
  18. Its stock piston, measured A little under 64mm like 63.88 but ill check again tomorrow
  19. Yes he did and it was well within spec. So ill call and get a measurment on a std piston and make sure all is well before i go any further.
  20. With my new banshee needing a top end rebuild, when i took the cylinders off they were perfect, no scratches or nicks. So i took em to my friends shop and he gave them a lite hone. The bore measures 2.52" or 64.008mm, would a std piston work or do i need to have it bored. Thanks
  21. Cant get the pic to load lol, says its too big
