  1. Does it matter what year yfz the Hubs are off of?
  2. ^^ I used to unhook the net in the corner under the shifter and still have to point my boot down. Hit some woops, foot slipped, boot went thru nets, luckily nothing damaged but my pride. Just happened to be riding with some new dudes that day that had serious doubts my shee could keep up with their thumpers. Definitly raise the shift lever!
  3. ^^just make sure he uses a hotrods crank. He's been using his "custom built" cranks that some have had problems with. There's was a dude on here recently who found out the hard way and I think he ended up sending his engine to redline. I'm in San Diego and Herr jugs is about 25 min from my home. I would use him, just make sure you specifiy what parts you want.
  4. Damn! I didn't expect pics! Thanks zilla! Ordered the tusk axle just now. Should I replace anything while I'm back there? The info says it uses all my stock stuff, but should I replace bearings while I'm at it? And zilla, did the yfz hubs make a noticible difference for you?
  5. Thanks for all the help everyone. I'll be purchasing the axle tonight. Going to stick with the stock hubs for now. How much wider would it be with yfz hubs Vs stock banshee? I ride open trails and dune in glamis, so trees and getting stuck aren't an issue. I plan on going serval when it's time for a top end rebuild, or when the cranks goes out. The bike had FMFs when I bought it. I was thinking of going slp in the future. I love the stump pulling low end I get with 4 pokes, but love the top end of the banshee. I was going serval to get better mid and still have good top. I'm shooting for the most torque I can get. Sleeper, could that still be possible with CPI? I LOVE the sound of them, but want to get a pipe that has strong mid. The FMFs seem to do well with the mid and don't fall off that much in the top.
  6. So, I've got some money burning a hole in my pocket. I was checking out extended axles and was wondering if it would be worth it for me? I ride a mix of dune and trails. Trails aren't tight, so the extra width won't be an issue. But lately with school and work, I seem to get in the wind about once a month. I just purchased some elka stage 4s and I have +2+1 A-arms and switching from a +6 swinger to a +4. I'm curious if the wider axle is a night and day difference like the swinger and shocks are? Plus since I don't get out as much as I like, I don't want to put money where it won't be felt. I'd rather save the coin and put it towards a serval. Bike stats: dune port, +4 timing, 28mm pwk, 19cc domes (run 100 octane), VF3, FMF fattys. I'm about 6'1" and weigh 225lbs. If that matters. Thanks for the help guys!
  7. So I went chariot of the intake. Now I have everything I need to get it up and running. Should I use some sealant to attach boots to intake? I was thinking some high temp silicone, yamabond, or something like this. Is it needed? Thanks for the help.
  8. They just arrived. Should have em on and running in about 2 weeks. It was a toss up between 28s or stock. But for the price I paid, the 28s weren't much more expensive. Got me from carboartswharehouse. Paid $300 for brand new carbs, throttle cable, and some extra jets. Plus they jetted to my engine specs and elevation. I found used stockers for $60-$100, but once I factered in rebuilding kits and jets kits, this seemed like an easie route. Plus I have expirence with pwk, and not mikuni. So jetting changes will hopefully be easier for me to make. By builder told me that the stock carbs are good up to 70ish HP. What's Everone opinion on the best intake for these. My stock intake is long gone. I figured I go billet to clear the clutch arm. I found a good price on a BOSS intake. I also saw chariot intakes, but the chariot is like $40 more. I know the boss doesn't use mikuni boots. But they look the same overall. What do you guys think? Thanks.
  9. I picked up a pair of pwk 28s. Should be here soon. Thanks for all the help everyone.
  10. I used to run a mix of vp110 and premium. But I recently found a place in El Cajon that sell race at the pump. It's 100 octane, which is what I ended up with after mixing. Much easier to buy what I need and use it as I need it.
  11. So I'm getting the pwk 28s. Getting a really good deal. Anyone care to help with some jetting advice? 1 over stock bore (true 350) Dune port 19cc domes 4 degree timing advance Vforce 3 FMF fattys w/power cores Ride mainly trails and light dune. I'm at sea level and usually never go 1000' ASL. Thanks everyone.
  12. Thanks for the input everyone. Definitely going pwk. But now I'm thinking that since I want to go 4 mil in the future, I might as well go ahead and get some 33s. how much bottom end so you think I'd lose switching form 28s to 33s? Don't really ride the bottom much, but my chick rides the hike every now and then, and I don't want her to kill herself. Thanks again everyone. The help is much appreciated.
  13. ^^^ PWKs? Where the best place to get em from? I seen cascade has them for $319/pair. Anyplace less expensive?
  14. Thanks everyone for the responses. But I'm wondering this too ^^ Would the PWKs be ready to run out of the box? Besides jetting anyway. Would the mikunis be able to do this too? I read that the needle, nozzles, and slide cutouts in the mikunis need to be changes out.
  15. I need new carbs NOW. I was using a trinity 2 to 1, I know I know, but I'm over it now. I was planning to throw my stockers back on, but I can't find them. So I was planning on buying new. I'd like to throw some 28s on the shee. I plan to do a 4mil in the future but I also plan on keeping the boring down to a minimum. So I figure 28s will be fine. I'm lost when it comes to picking a specific brand. It seems the keihin might be a little easier in the long run, but mikuni is easier on my wallet now. I see that with mikuni, that I will need to change some things to get them to run right. I tried to search on the site, but was unable to locate anything particularly helpful. I did find a thread where someone listed the type of jets/needle to use, but I wanted to list my mods and elevation and get some specific recommendations. My shee is a 97 and usually ride glamis and trails. Never more that 1000' ASL One over stock bore (true 350 now) Dune port VF3 +4 timing 19cc domes FMF fatties Any help would be great. I also like doing my own research, so if someone wants to post links, I don't mind reading. Thanks again everyone.
