Length of stock steering stem?
Dunatic619 replied to Dunatic619's topic in General Banshee Discussion
@ savage: 2. Dolla mod??? @ shee: I appreciate the honesty. But I still wonder, why not get a higher rise bar Vs swapping stems, in the 7/8" I've seen some msr bars that have a 6" rise. So I guess the Q is, is the taller stem better than going with taller bars? With your stem and some msr bars, I'll be a little higher than savage. Which seems great for the price. But I'd also rather get things right the first time and not have to do anything over. Thanks for the help everyone. Also, my wingspan is 79" if that matters. -

Length of stock steering stem?
Dunatic619 replied to Dunatic619's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Thanks SOOO much for that!!! I'm looking for a +2, or +3 stem and +1 forward. Hoping to find one used before buying new. I'm almost 6'1' (men, we have to claim every inch we can!) and the stock stem makes me feel like a gorilla on a tricycle. Have anything longer than stock? -
Like title says. I'm in need of 2 stems, my neighbor has one but I don't know what stock length is. It measure 24.5", with out the bottom part, to center of bar clamp. About 27.5" total length. Can't find anything on what stock length is. Even used the search function. Thanks for the help.

I dug out my haulers. They're 22-11-8 @ 9 cups. Found a bike shop local that has a set of used triple buffed Mohawks. Going to try those and see what it does. Ended up losing my + 3 swinger. My boy ended up asking for it back. He went back to a stock swinger and had a hard time keeping his front end down. I'll roll the + 4. Thanks for help everyone!!!

Also have a set of works triple rates with remote rezzys. Have no idea what they're valved for. Had them on a +2+1 setup and they did fine. They leak, so a rebuild is recommended. I think a full rebuild runs around $150 from works. Looking to get $150 shipped. Also have a stock rear shock. Added a high rate eibach sring to it. Doesn't leak from what I see, but it also stock. No revalving has been done. Looking to get $100 shipped. Willing to work a deal for the full set. Some of the busing are missing from the shocks, but new bushings should probably be used.

Set of FMF fatty with what I think are power core 2 silencers. Come with clamps, probably should be replaced. Chroma has seen better days, but no real dents/dings that I can see. Mufflers need a repack. Looking for $200 obo. Stock jugs 64.5 bore. These are good and ready to bolt on and go. Had a chance to do a 4ml and wanted to change my porting to aggressive MX. Also have Pistons to go with these. Looking for $400 obo for jugs and Pistons. Set of 19cc domes from a Vito's cool head. I think they fit NOSS and pro designs as well. $50 OBO Stock welded crank verified within speck my HJR. Looking for $200 obo. All items are plus shipping from San Diego, CA. I'll split PayPal fees with buyer. I WILL NOT do friends a family transactions. We both need some protection and I'm willing to go halves with the fees to insure a smooth transition. All prices are best offer and I cut deals for buying multiple items. I'm also willing to trade for some new plastics. Looking for a front and rear in black. I also have cash on my end if needed. Thanks for looking.

Just the tip

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Do you think going from +6 to a +4 will be a dramatic difference I'm shooting for? I also have a +3 swinger I could use.

@ dmx: 90% dune, 5% hill shoot, 5% flat drag. @ sheerider: the sandstars do slide around. But not a whole lot of bite from a dig. It's not hard to steer, but it feels like the front wants to follow every rut in the sand. It's actually not that bad. But I wanted the tires to float on the sand. I felt the the sandstars front tires where just to damn heavy for that to happen. The engine can break loose the rear easily. But trying to start from a dig, the tires seem to fall flat. @ sandking: is that what you're running? How's the weight of the Mohawks? @ sandslinger: that's why I'm looking for a different sand tire. Thanks for all the responses guys. I forgot that the bike is actually aggressive mx ported. Not dune. Cases are port matched. But it's an aggressive mx port done by HJR. I also have +2+1 arms. I already have the +4 swinger, but I'm wondering if a +3 will give me more of what I'm looking for. Got on my cousins LTZ 440 and that things is crazy nimble compared to my shee. So much easier to slide around. I also have some triple buff 22" haulers on 8" .120, so I know the haulers do just that, HAUL. But I'm worried the tires wont slide around like I want to. And these damn things are to expensive to buy and try. So what everyone thing about the size. I know I want 10s so I can slide around. But not sure on cup qty and overall size. Thanks for the lo everyone.

Looking to step up my paddle game from my sandstars. Here's my mods +4ml Dune port Port matched Gas domes (150 psi) +2 timing Shearer inframes I currently have a +6 swinger, but I'm changing to a +4 when I get a chance. Bike was a little more work to maneuver in the dunes than I liked. I've got a bad back and don't like to throw too much hip into the turns. I'm hoping the +4 will make her a little more nimble. I also felt the the dual ridge sand star fronts had a little too much bite. Is it worth it to switch to kenda /razr/Mohawk fronts? Any help is appreciated. Thanks. I also have elka stage 4s all the way around if that makes a difference. Thanks again.

If I said have the stuff I thought, I'd be in jail.

Help a mofo get a baseline for 28 pwk
Dunatic619 replied to Dunatic619's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Well... This jetting turned into a 4ml build. Damn it. Still using my 28s though. Old shop that did my porting took it too far down and it seemed to be more of a drag port. I never wanted that. I also was pretty sure the crank wasn't trued up. I didn't want to chance it on a drag-Ish ported bike. So... I'm Getting a killer deal on fresh bored jugs (64.50), an aggressive mx port, matching case port, and a 4ml HR crank. Now it looks like I have to ditch the fmfs to really make it a beast. My builder said he's never really seen fmf do over 65 HP. also switching to pump gas domes. Tired of spending $10/gal for race. Hoping once the pipes are on that I'll have much better torque and shooting for 75 hp. Which my builder is very confident it will be. He was thinking on race gas, it could be in the low to mid 80s. But what's the point of running race when the fmfs will choke it back anyway. I can always switch domes later. -
Help a mofo get a baseline for 28 pwk

Yahtzee! That's where I had jetted them to start. Thanks guys. The shee passed a leak down too. -
Finally throwing on my new carbs. Wanted to get some help with a baseline of where to start at with jetting. My shee is a 97 and usually ride glamis and trails. Never more than 1000' ASL One over stock bore (true 350 now) Dune port VF3 +4 timing 19cc domes FMF fatties Run a mix of race and pump equalling 100 octane. And run 32:1 Switching from a BS 2-to-1 carb setup. 2 in 1 was there for so long that I'm pretty sure I forgot how to mount up duals. So if I have some Qs, I'll post pics and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks yet again for the help BHQ!

Bump from the dead! I'm FINALLY able to get these damn things mounted. Had some family issues that required attention first. But now I'm good. So a few Qs, is it better to use yamabond, or is there something better to use to mount the boots to the intake? Crossover, yes or no? Thanks again for all help everyone. I really appreciate it. -
Google the part and make sure it's the same part you're referring to. Once you're sure about the part, post pics on here and they'll walk you through it.

Extended axle: really worth it?
Dunatic619 replied to Dunatic619's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Picked up my hubs too! Bearings and hubs should be here in about a week. Thanks for all the help everyone. I really appreciate it. Hubs will defiantly be powder coated before they're put on.
