I have the clutch cover off right now, and clutch plates out, do you not have to pull the motor? also, im a little confused on the ziptie idea to not remove the top end? also, dont you need a special tool to pull flywheel?
-
thanks raguncajun. Gonna have to give it a shot I guess.
-
thanks guys!! makes sense! Didnt know that would cause it. I pull clutch in on my honda 450r all the time and rev it, could this cause damage too? Also I plan to put a new rod and ball in, as well as do the pancake bearing upgade, just need to figure out how to get the old seized pushrod out lol. Everyone on here says my only option is to split the cases I guess... was hoping there was another way but guess not.

^funny

Ive pulled the motor, waiting on clymer to split the cases. been watching vidoes. Just wanted to learn the WHY in this situation, why the push rod froze up.
-
My clutch cable but tensioner slipped off, and i thought the cable broke, so for a couple days, i was shifting without the clutch. could this have caused my pushrod to freeze up? becuase normally it would just slide back & forth in there right?
-
lol okay

put a corvette motor in a s10 when i was 15. pretty sure i have mechanical skills. just dont rip apart little banshees on a daily basis

thanks larry, and this political crap is so confusing. funny how this world works. i dont even know what a republican is to a democrat. know nothing about either. Im a farmboy whos gonna keep farmin and ridin toys. thats it. but thanks for the kind words of criticism lol
-
im not looking to argue about why i wont give the banshee away, i came here for advice on how to fix it, looks like ill try splitting the cases. ive been offered more than 1200 as it sits, im not gonna come down in price because you have to drive far. but either way, its not for sale. so thats besides the point
-
its not really for sale as is. specially for 1200.
-
yea. it still runs. im against splitting the case because 1.) yes i would like to sell it and dont want to mess anything up worse. 2.) I dont trust myself and would have to order all new gaskets etc(yes i know gaskets are minor but i risk causing more leaks by messing something up.) 3.) because usually the push rod should just slide right out anyway, its just a matter of figuring out how to unstick it. and 4.) because even if I do take top end off, the cases are going to be stuck together by the push rod, which takes me back to square one, where i remove the pushrod the way it is, without the cases split.. If I have to, yes i will. but would certainly prefer not to
-
nobody knows how to get the push rod out? there has to be another way then splitting the cases, either way the rod ones between the cases.

im from Wisconsin. and i tried a magnet, but that didnt budge it at all, thats when I found that neither does a screwdriver.
-
really... i have no interest in splitting the cases. or pulling the motor whatsoever.. theres got to be another way
-
the push rod doesnt move at all, no. I want to sell the banshee, so cheapest into it would be best. but want it to hold up. How do I get that rod out of there? to replace rod and pancake bearing or what not.
-
id like to do whatevers easier. by shaft do you mean push rod shaft? shouldnt that normally just slide out? and whats a pancake bearing?
