So if I have to pull the clutch basket, should I replace the clutch as well? Any other mods worth doing while there? Shift star?

Yes, I've been doing searches on google and this site, I have an idea what it is, I'm at work and went to play on my lunch break. Seems like the shift lever rod it has a lot up and down and in and out play. I didn't mess with any of the shifting stuff other then taking the covers off.

Just went and checked it out again, and the shift lever just drops down like nothing is holding it up inside. What do you mean by detent and eccentric?. When you shift up, the lever will still fall.

Just got my banshee running again last night and this afternoon I went to ride it and when you shift down into 1st the lever won't spring back up, it stays down, but it will pop up into second easily, but it makes finding nuetral difficult. It seems really sloppy, a lot of vertical movement. Has 2.2 qts of ATF f

Tool from fast is something else I have to wait on, I can build this easy. Obviously there don't be enough water for it to suck in..

Toying with the idea of a carb sync tool. And I need a place to tap into the motor side of the intake, so I figured where the crossover tube goes would be a good place. Run hoses from there to a bottle filled with water and adjust air screws and throttle cable until it equalizes. Anyone done with with a banshee? I got the idea from a YouTube video from a guy with some snow machines.

ah i got my drive gear from mull, if the vito takes a dump i know where to get the next one,

no, the oem water pump and water pump drive gear are plastic, and my impeller was cracked, and the drive gear was melted or something, was about to break when i took it apart. the clutch cover has the water pump built into it, in front of it with the kidney bean shaped plastic cover is your water pump cover, it may be leaking on the inside of the clutch cover getting water into your oil.

well i just replaced mine with a vitos impeller. lol dont say that! thats weird they walked and wore, seems like something else would have to been to blame, unless poor build quality.

Head gasket will not effect your transmission oil. That being said, pull the cover off of the clutch side and replace all the plastic junk and seals while you are there. Drive gear is about $45 for the billet one, and the water pump impeller needs to be upgrades too. The stock oem stuff is doodoobutter

Quick question on using an engine degree wheel for checking ignition timing. On a car you use a signal from #1 cyl and use a timing light, and I've only used my degree wheel for cam timing, not ignition timing. Line zero up with the crank key and??

Cont really get much better then a hemiphrical dome shape. It doesn't have valves, so you're not worried about flow. If you have tight spots and open spots you'll have a higher change for incomplete combustion and IMO a greater chance for pre-ignition from hot spots. The piston is domed, so you'd want a domes combution chamber.
