  1. Ya he was gettin there. We were at the shop late workin on this thing. This tabs are just 1/8" but I took these pics before I put a flat gusset in on top to prevent any shifting of the tabs. They should be plenty strong enough. If not, whatever brakes make it stronger right
  2. I'll be running some new Maier plastics. The front ones will be the race cut ones but I will be running rear fenders
  3. Here some updated pics. Finally done with all the crap. After putting the whole thing on a surface place plate there was only about a 1/32 difference between both sides. I can settle with that.
  4. Sounds like a good plan. Thanks a lot. I should be putting the tabs on here soon enough
  5. I love the rolocs. First I would sandblast my joint then go over it the a blue scotch roloc and then on the new tubes I'd just use the blue scotch roloc for the ends. It's nice to talk to people on a forum that know what there talking about. I'm on ranger powersports and f150 forum and some people are so darn stupid.
  6. The upper tube, I machined the fish eyes on the Bridgeport..... Then my shitty cutter I was using got dull from this hard ass chromoly. Then lower bar I used a straight grinder with a 1" drum sander. The the piece in a vice and eye ball it. You'll get close enough
  7. Thanks for the help with the pictures. Ya the shock mounts looked like ass after cutting and grinding that tube off so I just hacked them off. I'll make some 3/16 tabs and new light mounts once I get my arms in and my buddy's frame so I can have something to take measurements off of.I'll tell you what though, just grinding, cutting, cleaning all the useless crap off these frames is a lot more work than it seems. Then again the factory welds are just pathetic
  8. Here is my progress from yesterday. <a href="http://s1223.photobucket.com/user/thorbeckerngr92/media/Mobile%20Uploads/2EA81CC9-376A-4546-8D72-DF2F606CE36E.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd520/thorbeckerngr92/Mobile%20Uploads/2EA81CC9-376A-4546-8D72-DF2F606CE36E.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 2EA81CC9-376A-4546-8D72-DF2F606CE36E.jpg"/></a> <a href="http://s1223.photobucket.com/user/thorbeckerngr92/media/Mobile%20Uploads/853598BA-9D8C-41FA-8E24-8ED01D449B2D.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd520/thorbeckerngr92/Mobile%20Uploads/853598BA-9D8C-41FA-8E24-8ED01D449B2D.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 853598BA-9D8C-41FA-8E24-8ED01D449B2D.jpg"/></a> <a href="http://s1223.photobucket.com/user/thorbeckerngr92/media/Mobile%20Uploads/3931486A-D8AC-4CCF-BB1F-0DE7582C7DA0.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd520/thorbeckerngr92/Mobile%20Uploads/3931486A-D8AC-4CCF-BB1F-0DE7582C7DA0.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 3931486A-D8AC-4CCF-BB1F-0DE7582C7DA0.jpg"/></a>
  9. Well it's good to know your frames help up finch cuz I'm about to duplicate yours lol. Ya I figured er70s-2 would be the right filler. I use that shit at work for welding fuselages. Gotta love it. Thanks for all the input guys I'll post some pictures when I get it wrapped up. That's if I figure out how to post pics on this forum. I take it there's a sticky or a how to on that as we'll.
  10. ya thinner would be nice but i still want my bike to be strong you konw. i like to ride the dunes mostly but there may be a few times when i go to the powerlines and some of that terrain is not that smooth. main reason im doing this is to make the frame not so damn ugly. but i figure id use strong tube to make up for the lost material im taking off. then again my buddys going to paint it so i think it should look clean. any suggestions are greatly appreciated
  11. i weigh about 200. i was looking and some pictures of cleaned up frames on this website and am kind of going off mainly one that (finch) built? heres the link to the picture. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=171188
  12. hey guys im new to the forum iv heard lots of good things about bansheeHQ. i picked up a frame last week and plan on cleaning it up a little bit and welding some new tubes in. could anyone tell me what size moly there using to replace some of the ugly tubes in the frame already. from a visual it looks like possibly 7/8 - 1" tubing on the stock frame. would 65-75 thousands thick moly work or are u guys using thicker tubing? also i thought about doing a subframe which im guessing i would use 3/4 moly with 65-75 thousands wall? any help appreciated. thanks guys.
