hey guys got an 89 banshee and it needs a new flywheel and stator...my question is is it worth putting that money into it? ive looked around at flywheel and stators and oem seems to be the only way to go but brand new they are super expensive...just wondering if its worth buying just those 2 parts or should i go ahead and buy a newer bike that has more work done to it than my current one and use the 89 for parts? im kinda leaning towards buying a newer one down the road just wanted to see what you guys think..also been thinking about selling/parting out my 89

magnets are still there...on that pickup coil i had to cut away a little bit of plastic though so it would actually magnetize

i bought the bike off a friend it wasnt running when i got it but the only things i added were toomy t5s and uni air filter and rebuilt the top end with weisco pro lite pistons main jet is at 280 ive been narrowing down electrical issues with this bike and its getting closer each time...just have found multiple splices in spits etc and its alot better than it was before but ive owned other banshees and i know this one isnt quite where it should be..very close but not there yet

forgot to mention that now 5th gear rips.like it should but 6th still worthless...stock sprocket size have anything to do with that or is it a jetting problem? -
great...lol i dunno ill mess with the air screw some
-
it doesnt really bog and die it just doesnt completly open up like it should until im on flat ground then it rips...its just weird how it wont spin real quick on that slick garage floor or climb a hill

im.not sure what his name.is but the top j arms still seem pretty good but im going to bother lower a arms...kind of startles you when bottom arm falls off the ball joint in 3rd gear lol but i dont have the money for brand new ones just a broke college kid so used ones on ebay seem like the way to go for now -
thanks once i get my a arms ill be able to do it
-
280 main stock pilot and i cant remember what the needle is set at
-
and also to give a better idea of what its doing...if i go in the garage and hold the front brakes and gas it..it spins the rear tires but not like it should lol and we all.know how slick the garage floors are lol might sound silly but it should rip on that floor

has a fresh top end toomy t5s weisco pro lite pistons uni air with air vents and super stock reeds..once it hits the power band its fine but if i go up a slight hill it bogs in 1st until.i get to the top of the hill? what could cause that? pilot jet? flat land it runs just fine.

tips and tricks for changing rear axle bearings ?
nightmarebanshee replied to jscharphorn's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
use a big socket and a small sledge hammer...on mine previous owner didnt install seal on brake caliper side so i had to break out the torch and dremel....but basically get a socket that will fit around the ring of the old bearing and smack it out you will have to do that on each side...it can be a pain -
