  1. By rights that should have been fine...But I'm old enough to think that "synthetic" oil is some kind of voodoo. After much hesitation, I've changed to Motul in my fuel and Klotz in my trans, I even had my kid change every single drop of fluids to Royal Purple in my OLD Toyota truck in his auto shop class. I'm happy with the changes in my 2 stroke, not impressed with the RP, was supposed to pick up mileage in the truck, I think the oils cost me over $250, I'll never recoup that in MPG's. Maybe the key is to only use it for what it is labeled for.
  2. "Type F ATF is a common substitute - I'd never run it." What I meant to say was - I have never run it, but know plenty that do.
  3. I run klotz synthetic in mine only. But I thought we were talking about flushing the trans. The factory manual says "any S.A.E. 10W30 motor oil" right in it. No, not the best, but it does work. as long as the oil has no friction modifiers. Type F ATF is a common substitute - I'd never run it. And, GOFAST did you run Royal Purple Max ATF? It is not for Type F clutches at all, Their Racing ATF is. Same as puting Dexron in your Ford, it won't go very far either without burning the clutches..
  4. Nope, It says on it," contains friction reducing and anti-wear agents". also, I think 50 weight is to thick to get where it needs to be. Any super cheap 10w-30 motor oil will due. or type f atf would be best.
  5. I'm still leaning towards the ethanol...Wouldn't that make it rich on oil to fuel and at the same time lean on air/fuel? So, more oil in the pipes and more heat to bake it. Anyone with experience or trouble with not using pure gas?
  6. Front half gets HARD... gotta cut it with a stanley knife.
  7. http://www.ebay.com/itm/YAMAHA-BANSHEE-KICK-START-LEVER-REBUILD-KIT-STARTER-/120590105040?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c13baf9d0&vxp=mtr Here's what they look like. Look for site sponsor. get a bigger want list first so shipping ain't more than the part
  8. Check em up front as they warm up. no need to burn yourself.
  9. cool head wanna say 21cc domes I ordered 1 size from stock, K&N no lid. 300 mains stock pillots, never a problem before, owned it 15 years. Never fouls plugs. Compression 128 this past winter
  10. I'll throw this out there...anybody got a spot? Sell - Share
  11. Kick start only about to break if it's really sloppy, you can buy rebuild parts, a screw,spring,ball,o-ring, to help with the jingling. A compression test is always a good idea on a new purchase, usaually a better idea before a new purchase. Good thing about two pipes is, start it and hold both pipes to see if they get hot at the same time, if one doesn't, that's your problem side.
  12. WERE you runnning a lid with your stock air box? If not you probably didn't need to change a thing. Did you oil the K&N's?
  13. Then the guy who changed it last didn't know how to check it. Or it's leaking it or burning it. But most likely the first one.
  14. Lately my packing only lasts an hour before being baked hard as a brick to the core in the silencer. Toomey T-5s and Motul 800 at 32:1. And I think it's been smoking more, maybe. I think I'm going to blame it on the 91 octane with ethanol, as I know the alcohol raises the exhaust gas temps. I switched from Castor 927 because that stuck the rings in my sons LT80,and the Motul did not.(CP racing did it's motor work and recommended the Mutol)Sold the 80 and got alot of extra oil. The same gas was causing my YFZ450's to lean out at WOT and shut down. Unless anyone has any other ideas?
  15. Does any show when screwed in? either way it's low. change it anyway.put in a 10w/30 motor oil,to the full mark and check it often for a while to be safe.
  16. Haynes should be OK link to the factory book - http://www.bansheehq.com/pdf/BansheeOwnersManual.pdf Gotta have 15 posts to use the shoutbox
  17. top of the x's in the box is full, with the dipstick just sitting on the cover, not screwed in at all. drain completely an add 1 and a half qts. is a good starting point. 1.6 qts is in the manual, that is 1qt and 19 oz.
  18. Not to worry, see that tape trick alot. Get a Clymers manual, read and keep an eye on things.
  19. I just left there yesterday morning, thought about leaving my trailer, but couldn't. Now I feel like I didn't get enough riding in because it was hot - already ready for more.
  20. So, will the State Park be full of tents this weekend reserving the electric spots for next weekend? Like snake hunt.
  21. i highly recommend an acid etch primer on raw aluminum, I've always had good luck using it. but then I also use a urethane clear coat.
  22. It's not uncommon for a float to stick in a dry carb during shipping.
  23. So was the left shock extended or the right one compressed? Bad shock and bent spindle on the same side?
  24. It looks like you right spring is compressed more that the left, and the left upper control arm is at a steeper angle than the right. is the right shock stuck compressed?
  25. Thanks again- it was great doing business with you...here's a more complete shot.
