$50 for the skinney white gurl in ur sig -
got this stuff put a little work into it cleaning it up and decided to stick with my twist throttle for now... to use it for a tors eliminator setup if your carbs are stock you will need the idle screw kit http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-Banshee-Idle-Screw-kit-w-tap-drill-bit-/200356038297 and to drill/tap the stock carbs http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=135591 looking to get $75 shipped for the setup, the throttle body itself isn't a great polish job but looks pretty decent. could use touching up. [email protected] is my email, you can probably search my name on the net, I have great feedback everywhere from car forums to audio forums to gun forums and atv forums that I'm a member of thanks for looking! banshee's being a dick head...

electrical system or bad gas? I'm having issues with my 450 and it's either or both of the above, I can tell, well it was having issues with the wiring cuz I could wiggle certain wires and it would die and not start til I wiggled them again but now seems like it's bogging and popping like there's water in the gas too... notsure, could be just the wiring on my bike. good luck tho! I was just thinking what a pita it is to troubleshoot a stock 4 stroke with all the god damn wires and mine is the suzuki so the fucking fuel injection bullshit is even worse! but yeah, electrical or bad gas seems like a crappy connection in my case for sure doing some of the harm -
well shit, good deal then! I supported them before I even got my banshee so I'm out to a great start here on bansheehq LMFAO my concerns with it were nominal at best. just need to be careful putting the screws that hold the wire clips in. other than that it worked fine and besides no directions/installation instructions I have no complaints! but for the price hard to say. maybe a link to a short vid online would be nice or piece of paper with a pic showing where to line up your new timing mark... everything is pretty self explanatory tho really wanna try to dial my jets in better now tho and get some engine ice and a giant billet impeller see if the temp is down it's got a little more crisp of a feel and jetting it on point will ensure longer lasting motor and optimal power

huh, sounds familiar, my bike also has lack of power down low, slightly hanging revs then when I get up to 6th it kinda falls on it's face if not revved up in the powerband then when I downshift it seems to be on it's face as well unless in the powerband while in the powerband it screams but out of it barely runs lol I actually forgot which way to move the needle to richen it up so I raised the clip 1 setting on both but I think I just leaned it. I bought the bike and it was already like this, now I want to make it run better so I'm trying to figure it out. I DID add a timing plate and set it to +4* yesterday other than that all I did was put in new brake pads and change a bent tie rod end. this is my 1st banshee so I'm completely new to this. I'm not even sure where the air screws are I'm guessing under the carbs like a raptor 660? basically the stator plate was the most work I've done on this bike but I'm looking at solving or at least lessening the issue I have on it. and make it at least pull 6th, gonna drop the needles 2 clips to go richer than I was set as one plug seemed a little on the lean side for me when I just checked them.

um, east coast atv on ebay was like $35 shipped airmail to HI, my CC is maxed and it was all I had in ebay. otherwise a site sponsor would've been my 1st choice to go. I'm sure it would've came with support/instructions for install it also was tapped/threaded from the front side so the wire clamps are a pita to get in. it does not come with screws either and I basically had to drill out my stock small screws so I got new stainless ones from ace hardware chariot is on my list for a high flow impeller kit, not sure where to get engine ice locally but I think the shee running cooler would also help the crisp feel of it not sure... also I have alot of breakup when I try to get into 6th so I think it's jetting and I need to check it, even once I try to downshift back it seems like it's boggy in low rpms so maybe just needle settings but mains could be off too gotta check the plugs and see how they look. I don't have a jet kit yet as I bought the bike used so that sucks.
-
sweet, thanks, didn't wanna start it up and it was at like +7* LOL, thanks for the quick response! gonna give it a try soon as I can escape my lil one and put the cover and crap back on... 6:30pm so I got like an hour max of sunlight left... other mods are FMF SSTs and aluminum adapter with UNI filter and no lid, not sure on the jets I bought the bike modded, will see if it pulls 6th uphill now, it has a giant front sprocket so even at 135#s up a mild hill on the street it doesn't like to pull 6th for me LOL.
-
so I got a timing plate and put it on, I matched it to the casting line on the block because it was the only line I could find? is that correct? couldn't find pix or actual directions anywhere that specified that and the search was giving me bs about how I was searching... thanks for any help, wanna rip it up the road to see if it makes a diff lol

Sick bike for the price
hawaiianbasshead replied to dunesovertrails's topic in General Banshee Discussion
that's a killer deal coming off of hawaii prices lol. I suppose if I get a modded bike, I'm gonna pick it up somewhere other than here LOL and figure out the whole shipping deal... I've seen stock bikes here with bolt ons for similar asking price... I'd buy that in a heartbeat if it were local to me! http://honolulu.craigslist.org/mau/mcy/3131934572.html here's rubbish for more than that LOL http://honolulu.craigslist.org/big/mcy/3141688020.html found one looking for an ar15 trade so I might put together an AR and see. it's an 02 limited with Toomeys so probably better than my current 01 shee with an exception of mine having a crusty durablue axle lol -

revbox and stator plate
hawaiianbasshead replied to falcon gt351's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I don't think the ignition boxes are worth anything, otherwise more people would be recommending them. I'm gonna get the timing plate and call it good... on a raptor I like having no rev limit in reverse but that's the only real thing I've had an aftermarket CDI for... oh, and I got it cheap so it was worth trying and was alot easier to reverse on hills and anywhere really LOL just had to be a little more aware -
all paddles are not created equal, sand snakes are above geckos but I think comparable to sand stars so maybe tied for 2nd worst paddles, at least from the searching I did online. comp cut tires and play cut tires seem to be the ticket paddla brats being the 1st choice for speed sand skate Is being the most common for all around duning and still having decent speed haulers and extreme's being just behind brats for speed all will probably want a cut to shave weight, look for a used set close to you I'd suggest, some paddles are deeper some shallower *cup/blade- the part that scoops the sand* generally sounds like for not highly modded bikes 6 paddles seems to be the most common. wider tires float more, narrow tires sink more but for rears sometimes you need the narrow for racing as it digs just enough to go faster somehow. alot of the guys who race run 8x7" rims, 10" rims handle better 8" rims are better for speed/racing. the best advice I could gather from researching is call and tell them what you want out of your paddle. crap paddles just will not pull as fast even cruising as good/decent paddles and even a more powerful bike will suck balls with crappy tires, from what I've read weather you go once a year or once a week you want good paddles or you'll never experience the sand the way you want to if speed is a concern. straight blades are harder to throw tail whips but are faster, v blades can be fun to throw sand but won't win you any races for the most part. so to sum it up, a slightly slower bike *less mods* can outrun a faster bike if the tires are setup properly and the faster bike is setup wrong. I believe fullerton sand sports is where alot of guys get their paddles, call them and see what they have to say, maybe even tell them you're researching before buying another set of tires and intend to inquire on the forum before the next purchase! they won't steer you wrong but you would prefer to get a confirmation from the fast banshee guys maybe or something... I can say with any of the top 4 paddles you'll probably be happy. brats, skate 1s, haulers or extremes and you'd be faster and having fun you can still mod your bike but I would put the proper paddles on before because even if you get porting, +4* timing and a sick set of pipes that compliment the porting you still have crap tires that're gonna slow you down. good luck man! post back whatever you figure out/end up doing

I don't ride paddles so I can't comment from personal experience but I can say, comp cut sand skate I seems to be a popular tire along with paddla brats far as standard atv tires, tebo cuts seem to be gaining popularity as well. for u. u want speed, I'd look into 6 paddle paddla brats, you still need to gear properly for the size of tire and you also need to take rims into consideration smaller will be faster, larger will handle better, rim width changes tire width and roll out as well. because I don't ride paddles I don't feel comfortable telling you to get a 8x7" rim and paddla brats and call it a day but someone else may lol for me, if I were to look for a paddle tire today, I'd look for paddla brats and 8x7"s and see how I like them if I had more motor maybe I'd get 8 paddles instead of 6. so maybe search the net for some sand tire info/comparisons or something... guys here and the raptor forum have such modded bikes they run custom tires it seems like alot of the time. I don't have the money for that kinda stuff so brats or haulers maybe extremes would be my choice going off availability and price if I could PICK I'd get the brats as I hear they're the fastest. SSI will handle/turn better but cost alot, be sure to get comp cut or play cut or they'll be heavy. or do it the easy way, brats I haven't heard alot about ams sand snakes, I think I heard they suck but can't recall. probably better than gekkos lol oh, and I've heard fronts make a difference too, specifically if it's really soft sand, wider taller fronts will float better causing less push in the sand I think, so less power to move... hear say...

Dune ported stock cylinders
hawaiianbasshead replied to BUILDER's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
any idea how that porting would compare to aggressive MX or trail ports? anyone? I'm looking at porting eventually and this would be a nice budget port job and I get to keep my stocks for spares... -
we are talking about the folds on the paddles, they weren't run on concrete that's what happens when you run them backwards. I was considering the stator cover but I'm not sure on the skull thing haven't decided I think I'd prefer it more plain
-
you more than likely have the wrong gearing for the paddles you're running, were you able to pull 5th or 6th gear? how hard? same power available as your dirt tires out on the trails u ride? more power is nice but if you put the wrong paddles on there say some drag bike aggressive paddles, you won't pull them unless you go WAY up in power. how many paddles, which paddles you got?
-
try starting it with the bike standing on it's rear grab bar like it did an over wheelie. sometimes they flood out. do yourself a favor and get you the pullstarters for BOTH of them or at least one. it's great for when you're having issues and the battery can't crank for as long as it takes to figure out the culprit lol. don't ask, I've had like 3 or so LT80s, got my son a drx90 now. miss the LT80s but after breaking a few cases because the motor is the swingarm I gave up on them lol good luck!
-
you mean the bike is setup to go fast in reverse with the tires facing that way. I'm not sure how it would even work in the sand like that being banshee's don't have reverse and there aren't any reverse races that I'm aware of even if it were on a raptor per say lol. I agree however that the tires in the pic are facing the wrong direction
