  1. What is the primary ratio? I'm running all stock gears in the engine. I've changed the clutch housing, water pump gear and drive to billet.
  2. If I can't get any answers then I'm going to have it machined thinner.
  3. Forgot to add that the crank drive gears look perfect.
  4. I pulled the clutch cover today to replace the waterpump seals just to cover my bases. The billet waterpump gear is chewed up. This accounts for the excess metal in the oil. The teeth on the inside have damage to them. The damage only extends 1/16" of an inch into the gear. Whats the fix? Go back to the stock plastic?
  5. Florence has iron ore on the old railroad grades. It is a pain to wash off. It gets everywhere. I heard about the local Hurley strip clubs, sounds like a good time to me!
  6. I heard that the riding near Hurley is pretty nice. Have you been riding there?
  7. We have plans near home for the 4th.
  8. The shee at the campsite:
  9. I thought that I would spread the word around for anyone looking for a place to ride. I'm originally from Florence WI so that's how I know about this place. The campsite is called Camping in the Clouds. They have a website. They are right on the ATV trail system in Florence. Florence has 250 miles of groomed wide trails that you can fly on. Plus they connect to Michigan and the counties south of Florence. We rented the camper in the pics for $35 a night. You can't beat that. The campground also has a bar/restaurant, indoor pool and showers. The view!
  10. I think once I get a straight hub and new rear pbi rear sprocket on it that my issues will go away.
  11. I'm pulling the clutch cover when my water pump seals come in. Then I can inspect part of the motor. Maybe I'll get lucky and the problem will be under the cover.
  12. This is after 10 hours of ride time on a fresh rebuild.
  13. Who sells a magnetic drain plug?
  14. I let it drain overnight. I dumped the majority out this morning, leaving the metal on the bottom.
  15. This much metal?
  16. I dropped the oil today. There are grey streaks in the oil and there is a lot of metal in the oil. It doesn't look creamy at all. It looks like there is a shit ton of metal in it. This is just awesome. I get to pull the motor once again and pull the bottom end off.
  17. I stayed away from the coolant jackets on my DIY porting job. I learned my lesson on the first set of jugs that I trashed. I made sure the cylinders were flush when I installed the head
  18. PBI now offers rear steel sprockets!
  19. 89-06 is the same 5 spoke design right? 87-88 is a 4 spoke?
  20. So I just found that my rear bracket is bent and is the cause of throwing my chain. Will a 91-06 rear collar fit up on my 87 axle?
  21. Everything is tight. I looked at the rear skid and imagined how I could run a rear chain guide. I don't think there is enough clearance to run on. The problem is the bent rear sprocket collar/ bracket. Its bent. Next question is will a later model 5 spoke one swap over to my 87 axle?
  22. I never rode it before the restoration. This is a problem that was present right away after I started riding it on trail 3 weeks ago.
  23. I did that and there is no pressure build up. The head gasket o rings were just replaced as well.
  24. I'm not running a coolant overflow rez. I'm going to order a used stock unit and install it on the bike. I pulled my dipstick again last night and re checked it. I had some grey color on it. I dropped the plug and its discolored now from a small amount of water in the oil. I guess I'll replace the seals again.
