Hello all Banshee owners by way of Tennessee here...I am new to banshees and in the couple of months I have owned her (Becky the Banshee is her name), I have to say...OMFG she rocks. Just to give a little history, I have been into everything from high power slingshots to pellet guns, oiled cooled gixxers (give it up 91's) to nitro rc cars and import tuners and a whole bunch of other off the wall things. But this is my first sports quad that I have owned...Why did I wait sooooo long I do not know. I have one now and that's all that matters. Some of the mods I am currently running are Lone Star handle bars, Lone Star axle +2, works shocks, V-Force stage 3 reeds, Tusks heavy duty clutch (to me best bang for the buck), +3.5 on timing, I have a set of cylinders that have been ported and bored 20 over, but need to have them checked out. Most mods have been done myself (thanks to this forum). I have been putting in legwork with research but please understand I am a newbie, and I am gonna ask some newbie questions and to those who give responses that makes people want to jump through the screen and let the air out of your tires (you know who you are), come on I welcome you as well..
So here are some questions:
Tires, I got a couple sets of Holeshots and goodness I would have never guessed ATV tires are so expensive. I have read where rockymountain is about the best bang for the buck, but due to my nature of riding I really don't need to spend the high dollars on brand new tires. Any recommendations on a place to buy some decent used tires?
Temp guage? How would you mount a temp guage and where? I have read where some guys modify their heads and others place it on a hose I'm guessing. If anyone have pics of their mods feel free to include.
Namura pistons, Pro X pistons or Weisco, who makes some good quality pistons without breaking the bank
4 mil vs Cheetah engine, what are some limitations of the stock engine 4 mil set up in regards to the cheetah?
Alignment? This is something that I have been researching for a while and really haven't gotten a solid response. How do you guys ensure that your quads are will go in a straight line? Do I need beefier A-arms, I have done everything that a newbie could do at this point other than purchasing a steering stabilizer it still seems as if I can't get the quad to go in a straight line when launching hard.
