great 1998 banshee for sale
skykingcory replied to 3dflyer's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Sorry dude, it is a really great bike. I've had several bought out from under me. Another better deal always comes along though We left at 7:30 in the morning and got home about 11:30 last night. We picked up another shee about an hour away pretty cheap. Not nearly in the shape as flyers though. Where are you located and what year and price range are you looking for? I'll shoot you a pm if I find one up for sale in your area that meets your criteria. -

Bike is sold! I picked it up yesterday. You haven't seen a low hour bike until you seen this one. Really nice. Thanks, and now I understand your username -
I have a 1998 yamaha banshee frame that is tweaked on the front. If you want pics, just shoot me a pm with your email. I'll take 50 bucks plus actual shipping costs. I don't have a title but the VIN is still visible. I also have an axle from a 98 banshee that is tweaked on the right side. It is noticeable when rolled on the floor, but still usable. I didn't notice it when riding. I'll take 15 bucks plus actual shipping cost to you. It comes with the axle nuts also. I have a pic of the axle also. Also I have a blaster axle that is tweaked on the left side. Not noticeable while riding, but noticeable when rolled on the floor. 10 bucks plus actual shipping costs to you.

getting ready for an exhaust

They are a fast pipe. Fun for dragging, but not that great for all around riding. I could barely beat a guy with CPI's in a long ass drag with my bike. Pretty impressive -
They clocked my shee at 93 mph with stock gearing in an 02 gmc truck and an 01 dodge ram at two different times WFO on the pavement. Both guys said that is what their speedo said??? The gmc had stock tires also, so the speedo is accurate. I didn't believe them. Feels like about 80 mph to me. How fast is a new CR250 dirtbike. I could outrun one of those on topend by a few mph. He was stock???

Where are you located???

I got a tweaked banshee frame. It has been bent on the front. It was still rideable up 80+mph. You can just see it is bent when eyeballing it. Would be good for something like this. PM if interested.

Thanks for the link

That is an impressive difference on your engine. Those rockets should kill the cpi's in a drag. The peak hp on the cpi's in your occurence dropped quite a bit when they should have peaked and then went back up again to the peak hp. Not what you want when racing. Should have kept climbing and peaked, or at least flattened out instead of dropping down that much before picking back up. So many variables between different engines can make different results.

new banshee or customize a used one?
skykingcory replied to tecateman's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
If it were me, I would go with one 1-3 years old in great shape with really low hours. You can save yourself a lot of money to mod with that way and you won't take such a big hit when you decide to sell it later on. -
Lower 70's. Best length would depend on what you were racing.

I traded a guy a set of stock carbs last night for a set of what I believe are 32 mikunis. Anybody ever run a set of these. They have the round slide also. I have pics of them if it would help. I mic'ed them on the reed cage side and they came out to 32 mm. Just trying to figure out if a 32 mukuni even exists and is used on a shee much.

I have a frame from a 98 banshee that is tweaked in the front I want to get rid of. I didn't know if anybody would want one for a project or experiment. I would let it go cheap.

What are the years that will fit a 96 shee. Mine works half ass and I'm going to get another one soon. I have one from a 98 right now. Would I have to cut my wiring harness to install it?
