  1. im with this guy. could give a shit less about kickin compression
  2. what if its been ported with head work and 120psi then what gas should it use or does it only matter what the gauge says ?
  3. epoxy shouldnt fall out. i put some in the transfers on a gas engine and its doing fine. maybe after a ton of hot and cold cycles it might break loose but i dont think that will happen anytime soon. then again theres about 100 different epoxies and im sure some work alot better than others
  4. ya its ken oconner and i like to help when i can because i know you parts changers get all confused with this porting talk hahahha
  5. cool. im just thinking out loud here but if you want to try more ideas you can put some marks were the ring ends are located and probly move the trans port further back. might need to weld the outside of the cylinders near the rear studs depending how thick the casting is but it wouldnt be any more difficult than the welding youve already done. use as much wall circumference area as you can to your advantage . putting in aux exh ports wouldnt be a bad idea either
  6. theres video on youtube. LED ran one and it did 45hp, video is on youtube. im sure theres alot of videos if you look around. its no secret the modern 250 bikes were 45hp at the wheel. the ktm is supposedly slightly higher, 2-3hp more. i talked with a kart guy that built a cr250 just over 65hp on race gas. seen the dyno paper but i didnt ask where the power was measured. might of been at the transmission output shaft or at the kart wheels. ill ask next time i talk to him
  7. so do you know what rods on the crankworks billet 10mil ? is it billet rod also of 115mm ?
  8. well i could buy direct from lonestar and avoid any middleman hassle
  9. ill tell him you sent me. do you know on the crankworks billet 10mil crank what rod they generally use ?
  10. ok cool. thinking i might build up something. lonestar stuff is looking real tempting. got 15G limit on the cc. that should get me started
  11. regarding the stock cases and billet cases: are the engine and swingarm mount locations the same ? so if i used lonestar frame with stock cases and upgraded to billet cases later would the frame mounts have to be changed ?
  12. i wasnt sure because the frame and swingarm thats shown on the lonestar site appears to be alittle different. maybe the bike in the pic was made a few years back and the new stuff has changed alittle ?
  13. i found this pic on the intanet. does someone know if its a lonestar frame and swingarm ? would this chassis and swingarm setup be a good hillshooter setup ?
  14. if your goin to all the trouble you might as well do it right and make them fukers big as you can. i dont see them being very big just from the thickness of the casting
  15. i think eric gorr bores them and puts in a 134cc piston but its a total fukin waste of money. you gain about 1hp locate a honda manual. it should say what the bore size is supposed to be. compare that with what yours measures and go from there but it doesnt look to bad to me. not perfect but ive seen alot worse. walls might be alittle glazed so try cleanin them up with a scotchbrite pad. i see what appears to be 3 gouges, they wont make a bit of different if theyre not protruding into the bore like a hangnail. chamfer them alittle if you want with a dremel and small diamond bit and youll be fine
  16. im betting its the cylinders is where your problem is. especially if someone raised the exh to high. makes it bog like a pile of crap when launching and it may have a hard time staying on the pipe. if you ride in sand the problem will only be worse.
  17. these carbs gonna work with a pump or no ? you gonna make some special needles for alky applications ? i assume a 2nd PJ can be added by the customer at anytime just like on a standard keihin ?
  18. most modern 250's are about 45hp. give or take alittle depending which bike it is. properly built with methanol you should get close to 70hp. that would give alot of banshees a run for their money. bikes are generally lighter also
  19. cool. i been wanting to throw this lectron in the trash for some time now. whos gonna make the over size bowls for methanol ? what about methanol needles ? will these work with fuel pump ? needing something for 500cc single to replace a lectron
  20. you definatly need a way to see how one modification compares to another. without that ability your at a big disadvantage
  21. well there is alot of dummies on craigslist. PO probly didnt know it was a 358 either . just boar it out .050 and youll have a 450
  22. suprised you didnt tell him to send it somewhere. hahahh. i know your type, replace spark plugs and turn airscrews are your limitations im not familiar with banshees or where they need welded. ive welded some other cylinders but explaining where and why would be above your head so i wont bother with the details
  23. i like mine to idle around 2500rpm or so. sounds like you might need a few pilots and needles to try. i never used a mikuni so i dont know what else to say
  24. i wouldnt sweat what these guys say. changing clutch baskets is about all thats on their resumes
