  5. definatly ill let you know. i think what ill do is put some on a small piece of aluminum. this should tell me if its going to pop loose or what not, if it dont turn to rubber first. last eopxy i tested didnt do so well
  6. im sure its fine in the short term. long term is what i would be more concearned about. im gonna try and do my own tests hopefully starting this weekend. alteast so i can get a idea what happens in the short term. devcon datasheet says it does 'fair' with methanol in a 30 day submersian test. what their definition of 'fair' is, is what i want to determine
  7. i like to keep the bottom corners of the exh as far away from the trasfers as possible (red arrows). i dont recomend you grind it any wider in that area. i cant recomend grinding the floor lower either

  9. does your gear shifter vibrate alot ? mine does. hands also get tingly after a while. ive determined the crank bearings have a couple thousands slop also, so i suspect this is mostly the root cause. although i doubt these engines are very smooth even with everything in perfect working order
  10. i realize your just cleaning up someone elses mess but i never understood why guys push the bore out that big. doesnt make much sense. on hondas with the .010" metal head gasket ive had good luck with ultra black permatex. usually takes couple taps from a rubber mallet to get the head back off. might give that a try

  14. not sure if this is the case but shops that deal only with particular engines usually dont want to work on other manufacturers stuff. if someone brought me a kawasaki i would say take it else where because my experience is pretty limited with those engines
  15. i dont see how hes ripping people off on ebay. seems like they would shut him down fast. i sold a pipe one time and forgot to reply to the buyers question for 2 days and ebay was all over me just for that

  20. ya a photo would probly help. older hotrods were grey, newer ones are gold. prox has been gold since as long as i can remember. wisecos were black, not sure if they still are. not real sure about the oem rods. if you know the length that would really help narrow it down as well from my experience, prox and hotrods always has thier name stamped on the rod. if theres no name then possibly its a wiseco or some other chinese junk if its 125mm i suppose theres alot of possibilities there
  21. ya i need the rod on the flywheel side as thats the only cylinder i have right now. if i happen to pick up a right side cylinder any time soon ill let you know and we can work out something on the crank. let me do some research on that 393 piston and see if its pretty similar to the 513. i was wanting to use a 513 for mock up because thats the piston ill be using to build the real engine. doesnt do me any good to mock up the dummy engine with a different style piston, but the 393 might be nearly the same and just a older version. ill get back to you on this
  22. which rod is missing ? right now i only have a left side cylinder im not familiar with 393 series. are they just a older version of the 513 or do you know what the difference is ? in case your wondering im using this stuff for experimentation so i dont have to chop up my good parts. trying to build a dummy engine out of worn junk parts

  25. let me ask something. whats the difference between the 3 and 2 piece covers as far as how they mount up or disassemble ? chariot ebay add uses the same pic for both covers so i cant get a idea
