I am so sorry, I did not know. Matt I do not know you, but i which you the very best during this difficult time. And I will sure be praying for you.
-
Does anybody knows is Matt from SoCal Suspension still in business? I have emailed him twice and never got a response. I need him to do a rebuild of the rear shock on my bike.
-
Loco, did you got longer Fox floats? How long are they? I wonder if getting +3 LT arms instead of +2 will solve the clearance problems with the floats?
-
"Loco" Have you received the replacement Fox evols shocks?

Great!! Please keep us updated, I really have my heart set on the float evol shocks for my setup. Hopefully the new shocks will solve the problem. Good luck to you!

"Loco" any updates on the Fox Float fitment problems? Did you find a solution?
-
Thank you for sharing your experience! So, how you like the Elkas? Tell me, was it worth it upgrading the suspension?
-
Okay, +2, but are they Long Travel +2? I only ask, because I read somewhere here on the forum that the only way you could mount Fox Float Evol shocks on the Banshee is, if you are running Long Travel A-arms only. But I could be wrong. I'm calling Fox tomorrow.
-
Loco, I just want to make sure, you do have the Leager LT +2,+1 arms correct? Also, have you talked to Fox?
-
I was talking to Elka yesterday, and they said that for the Leager LT +2,+1 Banshee A-Arms the shock lenght required is 17.25". I also called Leager, just to double check this, and they confirmed it. I almost bought a set used Elka Stage 4 for $600.00 that a guy was selling in this forum. I did not buy them beacuse they measured 18' eye to eye. I really had my heart set on the evol's, beacuse I was looking for a set of shocks that would provide the most "plush" ride possible. Keep us posted on whatever you do in order to solve this problem.
-
"Locogato" I was contemplating ordering g the fox floats but if you are having problems, I'm not so sure anymore. I have the same A-arms as you do. Maybe they would clear the jam nut if they were +3,+1 arms.
-
Matt, I need your expert opinion on this; I've been looking at a LT suspension for my bike. I emailed Leager and asked them what is the recommended shock length for their long travel +2,+1 arms, their reply is 17.25"for the banshee with their LT arms. My confusion comes from reading about other members that are running the same arms, and that claim to be running 18-19.25" long travel shocks on their setups. Anyway, the reason I ask is because there is a member here that has a set of never used Elka quad rate "old style" long travel shocks for sale for $600.00. These shocks according to the seller measure 18" eye to eye. Will these shocks (18") will they still work with the Leager LT arms considering that Leager says they need to be 17.25"? Matt, I know that the question may sound idiotic, considering Leager already told me 17.25", as I said, my question only comes as I see other forum members running longer shocks. Any input will really be appreciated. P.S The shocks been sold here are Dune shocks, will they still be okay for desert riding? They are valved for my weight though.

Spark plug reading after rejetting
traxx2003 replied to traxx2003's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Actually, I haven't cut the other plug, I thought it would not be necessary since both carbs are perfectly synch, and the compression is the same on both cylinders, I thought that it would probably look the same on the other cylinder. I'll cut the other plug tomorrow, just tomake sure. -
"87BRBanshee" My advice to you is get yourself the sych tool. It will make tunning your bike a lot easier, and will give you peace of mind knowing that the carbs are properly dialed in correctly. Here are some videos that will show you how convinient owning this tool really is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=8FDcsojwVxc&feature=endscreen http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=IZEBfFZUygM&NR=1 Hope this helps.

Spark plug reading after rejetting
traxx2003 replied to traxx2003's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Okay, below are some pics I took today of the new plug with two passes on it. Please let me know if my jetting is spot on. Also take into consideration that 100% of my riding is out in the desert, (mix of trails & some tuff terrain) I do not spend a lot of time at WOT. -
Hello everyone, I was wondering what is the recommended shock length for a set of Leager Long Travel +2,+1 A-arms? I came across a used set of Elka long travel shocks that measure 18" eye to eye and will like to know if these will work on my Leager a-arms?

Spark plug reading after rejetting
traxx2003 replied to traxx2003's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Okay, here are some pictures showing the old plug on the right, and the one on the left is the new plug after two passes at WOT and held there for about 7 seconds each time. -
I'm considering in buying a set of used old style Elka Quad Rate Long Travel front shocks for my banshee. They measure 18" eye to eye and are valved for 200 lb rider. The owner states that they are setup for dune riding and to be used with long travel +3 a-arms. All I do is desert riding, and I have a set of Leager +2,+1 long travel a-arms. Will these shocks work on my a-arms? What is the difference between dune shocks & desert riding shocks? I just want to make sure this will work for me before I commit to buy them. Thanks!!

I need help from the experts here; I had a leak one one of the carburators, so took them off, gave them a good cleaning and also decided to rejet my carbs beacuse I was having a little "bog" from 1/4 to 1/2 throttle. Before my carbs had 270 mains, 27.5 pilots and 1.5 turns on the air neddle. The clip on the neddle valve was at the fourth position counting from the top. With this setup I was having a little bog between 1/4 to 1/2 throttle. NOw I'm running 280mains, 27.5 pilots, 2 turns on the air neddle, and the neddle clip is on the third position from top. The bike now accelerates very smoothly all the way from idle to WOT. I went and got some new plugs in order ot do a plug chop, and here is where my confusion is; I brought the motor to normal operating temp, installed the plugs and did a pass, when thru all 6 gears and while on six gear I held the bike at WOT for about 7 seconds the killed the motor and removed the plugs. I did this twice, and to my surprise, both plugs where absolutly clean. Despite this I never felt the bike dying or going lean while at WOT. According to a thread I read about doing a plug shop, if the jetting is correct, you are suppose to get a nice brown ring around the base of the ceramic in the plug indicating the bike is dialed in. But my plugs looked like they had never been used. Any thoughts on this? PS I will post some pics of theplugs once photobucket starts working. 2005 Banshee Stock motor internals V-Force 3 reeds Timing plate +4 K&N filter pods w/outer wear

Actually, I haven't even opened my motor yet. This is what happened, I had a fuel leak between the intake boots and the reed cages, so I took the apart, then I learned about the leakdown test and decided to build my own tester. I while testing the new kit, the test revealed the small.leak. my motor is still factory sealed. (115posible psi both cyl's) im just getting all nesesary tools for when I decide to rebuild my motor.
