  1. You guys are freaking awesome!!! Thank you so much for your help and great advice.
  2. Thanks Tricked, I'll find a welder and figure something out......any idea on how big it's supposed to be or where it should be stopped? I have actually had the steering lock out fully on me a couple years ago in the woods......really freaked me out luckily it was low speeds, and I hadn't put way more money than I should have into it like I have now. Good advice from all of you.....I really appreciate it. Anyone else willing to chime in with ideas would be greatly appreciated as well.
  3. Larry, both sides had to be adjusted, they had toe out on both after the wreck, really weird to me actually.
  4. Ok so moral of the story is cough up the dough and fix everything I can see? Ok another question........if the stopper on the frame is not wide enough to stop the steering stem and the tie rods go all the way to lockout position at full turn, how do I fix that?
  5. Hello all, I got in a wreck the other day and messed a few things up. One of them being the part of the steering stem where the tie rods attach. It looks like the left side is bent down a bit (not too terribly). I am able to align the Shee straight......can I run it like that or do I need to get another steering stem? Also the main point of my question as the topic says (should have started with this....scatter brain!) is that the limiter that is on the steering stem never touches the stopper part on the frame (sorry for not knowing the terminology properly). Honestly I don't know if it ever has (since I've owned it)! Is this a big deal or should I just align the Shee straight and let it run? Another part of the issue is that the front right spindle appears to be bent (closer to the rotor), however again I can still align the bastard straight.......should I replace or can I just run it? Any help on these issues would be great. I will try and post some pics for you to see, because I think somewhere in there on the right side I have a bent heim joint or something weird, maybe you guys can tell me since you have experience far greater than mine........the real kicker is, what if it's the left side that is bent because that's what I have to compare it too! J/K pretty sure it's the left side that's messed up. Much thanks for listening and in advance if you reply. Bob
  6. Hey thanks Nightmare, is that 22" stock or what I should have with the +2, or are they the same either way? Sorry..... don't know much about these things but I love it! Any thoughts on replacement? Is there a process to go through after I replace the cable in the front or just tighten bolts and nuts and top of the fluid and get goin?
  7. Oh wow, you don't need to go to that kind of trouble, I appreciate that.....they have a number and email I can use, but are closed now, so I was just seeing if anyone knew off the top of their head so that I can get it ordered ASAP. Thank you for your reply and so promptly.
  8. Hi all, any help would be greatly appreciated.........I had a crash a couple of days ago, and amongst the repairs I have to make is a front brake line replacement. It's the front brake cable going to the right caliper. I am using Speedlinez cable and I have no idea what length I should get. I do have +2 a-arms. I only need the one cable and am going to buy the cable from Speedlinez site, but for a single universal cable I need to know the length to buy. Does anyone know what the stock length is? And if they do will I just add two inches to that to compensate for the +2 a- arm? Thank you for looking and any help provided. Bob
  9. What do you mean old style stator?
  10. Does anyone know of any good banshee guys in Rapid City? I had a local mechanic work on my built Shee and he left it in shit condition. I have a lot of money into this thing and really don't want to have to worry about it, and currently, I am worried about it. My builder is in Vegas and its way too far to travel to have work done, so if anyone is in Rapid or knows a good guy in or around Rapid I d appreciate the knowledge. Thanks, Bob.
  11. Thanks Rider.....it is a Ricks I believe, but it has to have been bad out of the box for me to have this issue, is that possible? I get that they are shit but everyone seems to have a problem with them eventually, some quicker than others.....this stator is brand spankin new......WTF.
  12. Oh shit, that's not cool at all....mines a bit different.....I ll try and up load it somehow.
  13. Will do General........have you done anything about it so far? What's yours doing exactly?
  14. No Tricked....the parking brake and TORS were gone when I bought it.....and I have 34 mm flat sides as well.
  15. So the consensus is that it's definitely not the ignition coil or CDI, and has to be a bad new stator? Could it be anything else besides the stator that is doing this? Thank you guys so much for the help! I wish I had someone that could switch me out but I'm new to the area and don't know anyone with another banshee. Thanks fellas....I'll report back. Bob P.S. should I have the guy go back to the original CDI box as well and get rid of the ricks one?
  16. Thanks for responding.......parking brake was taken off before I even had the bike....plus it ran fine before the stator went out. Yeah Jag, Ricks stator, guy said he's had pretty good luck with them.
  17. Hi all, I have a 99 shee that is pretty much brand new in every aspect. Was riding the hills one day several months ago and it died, dead...nada. Took it to a local shop that was recommended by my roommate . Guy said stator, replaced it with a Ricks....started up idled beautifully. It runs, but is very limited on revs, makes it to about mid range then stops increasing in revs and sounds like the left cylinder goes out. If you have your hand at the exit of the left silencer no more air gets pushed out when it reaches its new unwanted rev limit. He said CDI box....I said go ahead......same damn problem.....I said ignition coil, he said not even remotely likely that one side goes out and the other works, I said why not, he explained, I said if the lead is bad the lead is bad. I'm gonna stop by again in the morning and see if I switch sides on the plug caps if the problem moves sides as well. If it does, new Ignition Coil right? If the problem doesn't move dead cylinder on a brand new motor? I sure as shit hope not cuz my builder is in Vegas and that would be a major pain the ass since I m in rapid city now. Any coherent thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I have video of it on my phone and will try to upload it if at all possible that way you fine folks could have a better idea of what I'm talkin about. Thank you in advance, have a great day. Bob
  18. Thanks so much Gents....you've been very helpful.
  19. Dirty- rumors are that they will have a cast version in spring to summer 2013 and they are supposed to be in the 400 range. However billet does look nice, so maybe I ll still consider them. Toofast- what's your big bike? How do you think they will do on a banshee setup from your experience so far? I go from Nor Cal to Vegas to Utah to South Dakota, so I'd liked a more versatile setup, what do you think. Thanks for your insight. Nieskes- that's not bein a dick, it's a legit question. This is my second 2 stroke. Honestly just got back into ATV s last year and haven't had one since I was about 14 (17 years ago), and that was a kx 125, and I only really rode one place in Utah, so jetting was not really necessary. With my Banshee I ride in many locations and had a lot of money put into it while I was in Kuwait, I don't want to hurt the motor by being too lean, and its a viable concern because of my lack of experience. So what I do is pay someone to jet the thing for me. While I wait for that to be done I ride my Polaris Predator. Hence the reason I have looked into items like the smartcarb. Thanks all for your replies, any more info or thoughts would be helpful and appreciated. Bob
  20. Lookin at the Smartcarb setup, I don't know how to jet or care to learn how to....anyone know anything about these for banshees? I have 34 mm flat sides currently. Bob
  21. How much for a package deal on the air box and 34's? Bob
