  1. I would find a close Bhq site sponcer and ask them If a ported banshee is for sale Good porting with matching pipes is a big investment.
  2. Also post what your compression is please.
  3. I'd try a Known banshee builder to do your bike because it sucks to setup up an epic weekend desert trip just to have something stupid go wrong. Tell them you want it bullet proof. Try Herr Jugs Racing in san diego.
  4. My bother has fmf gold pipes and the rest is same. His is snappy and has 32.5 and 310
  5. Good point j vs A I have to think that j arms vs. a rock would tear off the mount at 35 mph and A arms vs. a rock would be alot more because the extra frame area of the a arm. But most people are going to upgrade to long travel any way.
  6. The rev up and then it settles could be technique. So most banshee here are heavily modified. Try to use the plug chop / or fresh plug inspection. To check how your motor and jets are running. Also if your shee still uses tors caps you might get the kit to remover the tors to solve your rev up. If your shee is cold don't rev it. Let it warm up. Some pistons are very pron to cold seize. Boost bottle adds weight to boot and cracks it. Replace with stock. Foot peg not a common brake.
  7. The one piece plastic you are going to use only let's you use the stock tank 2.8 gal. In glamis I could barely make it home with a 3.8 and extra. Is your frame long travel? It could help you clear the exhaust better.
  8. Time for a Manuel. A cheat way to adjust the idle is to adjust it at the throttle. But most people buy the tors eleminator kit which worker really well. Hit up a stie sponcer.
  9. You could try stronger clutch springs, speed shifting eleminating weight and adjusting your jets and needle and practice your launch siting way back on the seat. Banshees have traction issues.
  10. Hey wacko this is about my brothers banshee stock carbs k&n carb where just cleaned but ill check anyway. Someone else also said spark related. The 5k caps are new. But I'll check them. The spark plugs look tan on the electrode. I'll check other eletrical stuff too.
  11. Wow I'm like is this post from Kevin ? Turns out I'm not dreaming I'll be in touch. Thanks Santa jugs!
  12. First day at glamis was great. Half way threw 2 nd day it started a poping maybe like a lean pop in 2 nd and third gear going up hill. So I babyed it back to camp. Going to build a leak down tester but mean while any thoughts? Look it over for air leaks but nothing.
  13. Is this idea to make sure the pipes do not get changed? I know that my expanchine chambers are close but clear good with long travel
  14. Hoping for aluminum thanks Should have posted that part sorry
  15. Please send pics to [email protected] Thanks
  16. The guy at leager told me to set the tire pressure, sit on the quad, use a large framing square on flat concrete. So place the square on the ground and touching the front tire. When there is a 1/4 inch gap at the top edge of the rim you are close. Their are many setting for the type of riding you will do the most. 1/4 toe in is good to. I don't know what type of a arms you have but caster is not adjustable( or was that camber ). This method is easy and good for old or tweaked banshee frames. What arms do you have?
  17. A wiggle test helped me out turned out to be the cdi connector. Have some one kick it and watch the spark tester. Mean while you wiggle the wiring harness.
  18. What is your air filter setup and what is you elevation? Stock carbs? Do you mix 40:1? Stock needle? Guessing sea lvl to 1000 and k&n Filter I'd start with 27.5 p. And 290-300 mains Be ready with 30.0 p and 310 mains
  19. My compression at sea level is 110 lbs. Not sure what domes a have. But are 4mill cool head domes cut just for this crank or can I just by any dome size I want? Second question will 145 lbs compression work running 91 octane? Thanks Thomas.
  20. When you get you new intakes (if they are cracked bad) remember that the factory air box and boots help by staying still. Your pods are pulling them down every bump. Btw are the cracks be the cross over tube or around the carb area? Mine where cracked by the boost bottle.
  21. Good packageing good tracking number sweet deal good communication. Tha ms Thomas
