  1. you guys think the rad will get enough air flow? look like only the very bottom half of the rad gets air from those slots in the front. found some lights i think will fit perfect, just trying to find a replacement bulb thats 35w, all the lights ive found (locally) are 55w+.
  2. i noticed my last batch of fuel (from turkey hill with up to 10% ethanol) it looked a little cloudy when i mixed the oil in, but when i get fuel with no ethanol it never has that cloudy look. i try to stay away from ethanol if i can but do use it
  3. pulled the carbs apart, real clean. main jets a 200, the bike did have a full air box when i got it so does that sound right? should i still bump it up to 280 just for removing the lid? didnt get to pull the pilots, need a smaller screwdriver
  4. is that 4th clip from the top or bottom?
  5. Elevation 1,309ft. i got a new airbox to replace my half melted one and it has a aftermarket foam filter that i plan on running with no lid, bike already has T5's on it and im gunna pull the carbs to check the jetting, about where should i be at with the jets and needle setting?
  6. no sweat man, i forget about it alot to. i just know about all the threads because i was looking fort the same info lol
  7. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=140096&st=0&p=1209997&hl=+fuel%20+ratio&fromsearch=1entry1209997 this is all over, do some searching.
  8. http://www.herculiner.com/ thats what im doing mine, well the bottom of the frame anyway. if using rattle cans make sure its npt the cheap $0.98 walmart crap, spray it on heavy (without runs) and put a few coats on. get a few extra cans for when it chips or scratches. i did my 88 bronco II with rustoleum and it held up great in the trails, i mixed 1 part paint 2 part thinner IIRC and sprayd it on a little heavy, cant remember what kind of gun it was to spray tho
  9. been searching and reading about this for about a week, all i see are some comments about them being great for bottom end and others saying you will loose power on the bottom but gain on the top. can someone point me to a good read about it or explain the pros/cons? 90% of the stuff im finding looks like smack talk/personal preference. i want to put one on my 1995 banshee with T5's. can i run a single on a stock engine? no clue whats done to mine yet but im going to keep it close to stock, maybe a woods/trails port from FAST. my riding is all done on the coal hills of PA so maybe some of you locals can chime in and let me know what you are running
  10. unplug the TORS box under the tank left side, should be a 3 wire white plug (on my 95 anyway). this will tell you if its the TORS or not
  11. doubt it would last with the vibration of a shee, i would go liquid filled in the rad hose
  12. TORS shouldnt effect starting if its unplugged AFAIK. if it has fuel and spark (pull a plug and see if its wet) it should fire, if not you i havent a clue, still new to banshee's myself EDIT: how strong is the spark? did you replace the plug wires and boots yet? sounds to me (if you have fuel) that its just a weak spark. make sure grounds are all hooked up aswell
  13. kick yer brains out untill the needle stops climbing on the gauge
  14. i picked up a cheapo at harbor freight for $9.99 a few days ago. but remember you get what you pay for, i got the cheapo one for in my trucks tool box and kept the good one in the garage
  15. ok will do, thanks. it kept climbing when i kicked a few times but wasnt sure if that was the right way. ill take a second test and post results
  16. ok so i did a compression test, i hooked up one cyl at a time leaving the other spark plug in and on a single kick i get 40PSI on both. maybe a 2psi difference between the 2 but im only seeing 40PSI, what gives? bike starts and runs amazing, 2 kicks after sitting the past 3 days in 40*F weather. am i taking the test wrong?
  17. yeah i have been getting alot of mixed answers just like you said. ill start with a cold test and see whats up. my main concern right now is just to check and make sure both cyl. have about the same or are within 5psi of each other. thanks for the info, im goin out to run the comp test now and strip the plastics off the bike for buffing
  18. should i take cold compression test or engine at operating temp? im doing the leakdown test this weekend to.
  19. first banshee ive owned so i know very little about them but i picked up a decent 1995 with unknown mods other then toomey t5's. i would like to check it all over but dont know the common issues, things to keep a check on and what to spot for mods that have been done. can anyone point me into the right direction for a basic going over? so far i have rode the bike 3 times and all seems good to me but i notice some clatter or pinging on the right cylinder, seems to come in when im up to operating temps but isnt real loud. both pipes have even amount of exhaust flow. ive rebuilt a few 4 strokers in my time but like i said this is my first 2 stroke and i dont really know much about them
  20. going for the removal kit monday, one of my buddies said a local shop has it in stock usually.
  21. OP sorry to highjack i just bought a 1995 that has this box on it and i noticed it unplugged today, plugged it in and bike refuses to start. main question, whats the box for? EDIT: some more searching got me the info.
