What is the difference between the ATV 520 X-ring chain and 520 X-ring chain on rocky mountain? Obviously price, but why is one 98 and one 82? Is it because one is gold, they have the same information. Are you guys talking about the DID 520 X-ring? I need to buy a chain for my stock banshee. Is the size 520x104? Thanks

So my skid plate came the other day from JDs Customs. I went to mount it, and at first it was too narrow, so I bent it a little to make it fit on either side of the brackets. However, when I lined the holes up the sprocket and rotor were both right up against the skid plate. I noticed the stock skid plate has a bit of a bracket built in. Do I need to buy a bracket? Also, I was thinking maybe the chain is almost all the way adjusted out so that the bracket may be too far apart. Is this possible? Any ideas? I can post pictures if needed. Thanks

Any idea what other companies? Anyone else have an opinion?

Was talking to a friend the other day and we were talking about Bushings and how the stock ones are plastic and wear out easily. My friend mentioned a set for sale from Toomey Racing that was metal-ish http://www.toomey.com/html/bushing-pic_store.htm. What do you guys think of this? I was looking for a long-er term for bushings. Are there other brands that are better/stronger? Thanks

Hey all, I live on the East Coast and hate waiting 5-7 business days for parts to come from the West Coast. Does anyone know any good East Coast based online stores I can check out to get OEM and Aftermarket Banshee Parts? Thanks!

he only had two rotors in stock.. neither looked like they would fit my bike. any other ideas?

How much? lol The over flow line in the back, on the coolant box? Makes sense, I'll give it a check. My radiator has seen better days, but my friends is in really good shape so I am guessing I don't need to replace it.

So I was riding the other day, and when I stopped I had coolant on the right side of my radiator (on a-arm, frame, where the a-arms connect to the frame). I looked for it to be dripping but could not find the location. I cleaned it off and went for another ride. When I came back after 15 min of riding there was nothing there. Today I was riding with my friend. It was fine for the morning, then in the afternoon it was back. I cleaned it off and went back riding and it stopped again. At the end of the day my friend (who has a banshee too) came down my driveway after riding for a while and went on two wheels and had coolant all over the same spots as me. It looks like it is dripping from the top of our radiators. Everything seems to be sealed up tight, and I couldn't see any coils leaking. Any ideas?

I was looking to get a rear skid plate, new rear brake disc and brake pads. Do you have any recommendations? Not looking for the best looking and most expensive, just something that is a bang for the buck. Fairly priced and quality performance. I was looking at this http://jdscustoms.com/Yamaha_Banshee_Rear_Skid_Plate.htm because I like how it has slots in the bottom so the water doesn't sit there. But it is kind of sketchy that it is some guy making them at his house... There are so many styles and types of discs and brake pads I don't know where to start. Taking the hub off seems like a pain in the ass, but if I g2 do it I will. My stock one bent because I don't have a skit plate, and my brakes are wearing wrong, so I need to replace it. Thanks

Hmm.. are we talking new piston and rings, or more? Because I am guessing their is a rebuild, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were upgraded. Or are we talking more work that that?
-
So you are saying mine is at 145 because I am at 200ft above sea level? If so, I am guessing that is pretty good, so can someone give me a range I should be in for 200ft above sea level? Thanks

Hey, quick question... I keep reading everywhere that compression on a banshee is supposed to be like 115-130 or something.. I checked mine last month and both cylinders were at 145 psi (with wide open throttle). Can someone tell me why this is different? I am looking to buy another banshee and the guy said he just rebuilt the top end with a Teflon piston and rings and he checked it and it only had 115 psi in both cylinders, and he said it only had 5 hours of ride on it. Thanks

Can someone tell me where I can order individual Pilot Jets? I have stock carbs on my shee, and need sizes 27.5, 30, 32.5 and 35. I talked to a couple places and they only have certain ones. Looking to order tonight, or early tomorrow. Thanks. (I live on East Coast, which would be better for faster shipping)

Put the 290s in, middle clip needle, 1.5 turns out. Here's the results: 1. Rpms were high again, turned the air screw in .5 and it went down but is still pretty high. 2. Was bogged down at the beginning of each gear, and starting off. 3. Choke test in 1st gear and it bogged rather quickly. 4. 3rd gear Powerband was a bit delayed, I went into 4th and pulled the clutch in soon after and the rpms were staying high and slowly coming back down. Overall: Much better than the 260's but not perfect. You can absolutely hear the gas just pouring into the carbs lol, it is soo much louder with the airbox lid off. It just sounds like I am going to be going to the gas station real soon everytime I give half throttle.
-
I put 260 jets in today and it ran a little bit better than yesterday with the 250s, but while I was riding I pulled the choke and it ran for a bit, and didn't bog down so I pushed it back in and kept riding. It then started bogging down so I put it in 1st and pulled the clutch in. I went to rev it up and it bogged down and died. I then started adjusting my air screws from 0 turns out to 2 turns out and nothing happened so I got my airbox lid and did the same and it started up but when I gave it gas it bogged down again. Can someone please tell me if my jets are too small or too big, and what my next steps should be to get closer to fixing this problem!? Thanks

I needed to go down to 240 mains prior to the airfilter and lid removal. But instead of going to buy 240 mains just to get through the weekend I decided I will just put my new airfilter in and use the jets I already paid money for (250-290) It is just boggy in general, I give it gas then bogs and kicks in but it just feels sluggish overall. I only have the airscrew out 1 turn, so I feel like either that is the problem or I need to up the jet one more.
-
Sorry forgot to mention that part... It is bogging when I give it gas. When I give it gas at idle the RPMs hang briefly before they job..(My idle screws were fine prior to the air filter, would this change that?) And lastly when I pulled the choke while riding it bogged, so it seems I am riding really rich for some reason. But I doubt I need to go to 240s..

Great post. I could use the same information. It is pretty simple from what I hear. -
i will take the carbs apart after work today, i know how to take them apart but how do i know what i have already? are their numbers on them?
-
Ya it is foam. I have no idea what jets I have now. I read the sticky, and used the toolbox, but I didn't know what to click for some of the sections.
